Louis-Auguste sat in his dank, underground cell. He knew he deserved to be there, as he had been involved in a fight and wounded his friend with a sword. But, right now, entombed in stone on a lush tropical island, he could sense something very big was going on just over his head in the little town of St. Pierre, Martinique.

In fact, the little town of 30,000 people was being buried in a pyroclastic cloud, just like Pompeii was centuries earlier. Mount Pelee, an active volcano, literally blew its top and buried the town in Mud, Ash, and Pumice. Nearly everybody who had been in the town perished, but due to the fact that Louis-Auguste had been in a tomb-like cell, he was one of only two reported survivors. The entire town was wiped off the map. This happened in 1902, and I remember reading about it in the 1970's. I had always been fascinated by Volcanoes, and have followed the various eruptions that have occurred in my lifetime. We usually associate Volcanoes with the Ring of Fire in the Pacific, which has given us some real whoppers. However, in 1995-1997, the little island of Montserrat suffered the eruption if its volcano, which eventually buried the town of Plymouth in volcanic ash. The people of the island were successfully evacuated so there was not the loss of life that was experienced on Martinique.

Those of you who have been reading this Thread since at least 2013 know that I had my own harrowing encounter with an erupting volcano. My dearest friend Lil and I were in an open helicopter over Kilauea. It was so exciting as we observed the eruption of Pu'u O'o, which was the erupting vent at the time. Suddenly, my friend went into a seizure and died in my arms. I tried to save her, but we were in X-Shaped harnesses, and I couldn't get an airway anyway. I notified the Pilot of the Medical Emergency, but I actually felt her spirit leave her body, and knew she had passed away.

I could not save her, but I knew she was "Saved".

That brings us to Today's Name and Title of God.

The Name is "My Salvation". This is spelled like this in Hebrew:

לִֽישׁוּעָ֑ה (Yeshua STRONG'S 3444)

If that sounds familiar, it should, for it is the Name that the Angel gave to Mary's Miracle Baby at the Annunciation. We know the Name as Jesus, only because the New Testament was written in Greek, and that is the Greek form of the Hebrew Name Yeshua. We use the Hebrew form all the time without realizing it when we name our boys Joshua.

One day you’ll see Lil again. Although it’s sad she died young, at least she was with her best friend when she left this world.

The story of the Martinique survivor is amazing. If you like volcanos the Horn of Africa was active last century. In Djibouti you can see large black lava outflows from the volcanos that erupted there. It blew without warning and many locals died. There are also very very hot springs. I foolishly stuck my fingers into one to see how hot it was and got scalded. The locals were laughing at me for that LOL. God is a marvelous designer and His creation is snagging.

This planet God created is amazing. It’s hard to imagine what’s actually at the center of the Earth. And then there’s the possibility that’s where hell is located.
