By now, you may know Today's Scripture by heart, as this is the third day I have posted it. That is not because I'm lazy, but because this particular verse has so many Names and Titles for God. I already knew it by heart, in the KJV, because of this song: "Cornerstone" by Leon Patillo. I love Leon's voice, and, in this lovely song, Leon includes another one of these verses that has a number of Divine Names included. When we get to Isaiah 9, and all it's beautiful Names, I will probably repost Leon's song, as well as the one from Handel's Messiah that has the same lyrics (Isaiah 9, KJV). Leon used to sing with Santana back in the 60's which means I have probably seen him perform many times.

Laying the Cornerstone of a building is often accompanied with ceremonies and celebration. It is vital that the corners of a building are secure before you pile more weight on it. Again, I am not an Engineer, but it would seem to me that the most stress on a building would be that vulnerable place where the walls come together. When a Cornerstone is laid, it signals that the rest of the building can proceed.

A cornerstone often contains words about the building. It can be the Date of Construction, the Architect's Name, the Person who financed the Project, or perhaps a Hero to whom the building is dedicated. The Cornerstone not only Supports, Strengthens, and Protects the Building, it also Identifies it. It might even contain a Logo. That's interesting, because another Divine Name is the Logos, which means The Word. It just keeps getting deeper. This Study could go on forever.
