In this LINK,, you can hear another musical picture painted by Handel.

At first, the chorus sings "By man came death" in an eerie, soft minor key. Then you have to jump to turn down your speakers for "In Christ shall all be made alive", otherwise the sound might break them.

The version I chose is a very big choir at the Royal Albert Hall, but even with a small chorus, there is a similar effect. The contrast between Death and Resurrection is palpable in the music.

Handel's Messiah is full of musical moments like this, and I probably missed a few. The more I listen to it, the more I hear.

Thanks to all for your prayers for me and Tippy. She's fine, but I'm still feeling the effects of this awful disease. I know I'm getting better, but sometimes it doesn't feel that way. That's why we shouldn't rely on "feelings".
