I just signed up for benefits again and will be working another year. Tomorrow marks 32 years with this employer.
My pronouns for myself are “I”, and “Me”. If others must use my pronouns they should use those.
The HR department seems to misunderstand the difference between pronouns and titles.
Showing up here too, but not mandatory (yet). I try to always address everyone with Mr., Ms. and Ma’am - and oddly enough (/s), have had no issues to date.
I work in higher education and we are not to this point yet, but many of my co-worker sheep have started this idiocy in their email signatures. I simply will refuse to cooperate and retire at that point.
We currently have a woman that runs our bookstore who insists on using the mens restroom, I have encountered her a few times and go on about my business. Administration has found out she is looking for someone to say something to her to initiate a lawsuit. Me and one other male staff employee use this restroom and I was approached about the situation. I told them I didn’t like it but if she is literally stupid enough to use a mens restroom let her deal with the consequences, I intend piss, take a dump, fart, belch and whatever if she doesn’t like it tough. If she then complains I will file a complaint on her.
I retired from HE before things got real crazy. Before I retired, there was a woman departmental office administrator who didn’t like to walk to the end of the hallway to use the woman’s restroom. The men’s restroom was right across from her door, so she had the signs switched. That lasted about a month until the campus facility people switched it back..
I’ve always found it important to reign in the HR department with some of their politically correct nonsense. The HR crowd, especially the likes of SHRM, have touted how important the HR function is, and how HR should be given a seat at the executive table.
Reminds Me of an E-Mail I received from “Downtown” when I was working at The City Water Treatment Plant.
In short it consisted of don’t pick on the mudslimes.
I Replied to what I thought was just My coworkers at the WTP and I basically said F-them and when they stop murdering innocent people around the World I might be open to discussions about their feelings.
Well, Ol’ Fumble Fingers managed to choose the “REPLY TO ALL” and My E-Mail went out to the ENTIRE City including the Mayor and Highly Ridicules.
Things were a bit tense the next morning... But I kept My Job.
to hire 2 more WTP Operators at that point.
mr- Coworkers were all good with it. The really tweaked ones were in Highly Ridicules, City Council and Mayor.
And I wasn’t done with Highly Ridicules just yet.
Highly Ridicules needs to be abolished and changed back to PAYROLL Department. Highly Ridicules has amassed way too much power over the Entire system and Personnel. It’s like when they renamed Garbage/Trash Man to Sanitation Engineer.
I was required to attend a 3 day “class” on Productivity and changing the Paradigm or some stupid name close to that. The 3rd day the hr person started talking about how it takes 21 days to form a habit and how it creates a better working environment because it increases productivity. She kept repeating the 21 day BS.
My job was Water Treatment Plant Operator and in the Water Department we worked 12 hour shifts 07:00 - 19:00 Day and 19:00 - 07:00 Night. We were on for 3 shifts then 2 shifts off, then 2 shifts on and 3 shifts off. Every month We swapped from day to night with the same hours. Now I didn’t have any say in how or why this was the way it was and had been that way for decades. Since the Plant had existed 60+ years ago. I thought it was the stupidest, goofiest schedule I’d ever heard of.
So I raised My hand to ask a question and when recognized I asked “Do Y’All even look at the hours that the Water Department works ?” The hr lady had a confused expression and didn’t answer My question but instead asked Me “What I was getting at ?” I replied with the schedule that we were on and that it’s going to be impossible to “Form a Habit” with the schedule we worked. hr lady said she would get back to Me with an answer later.
The next day I was called into My stupidvisor’s office and asked what I had done in class the day before. I looked at him and said “What are you talking about ?” He replied that hr lady said that I had embarrassed her and was rude to her. I told him exactly what I had said and asked. He said “are You sure ?” I said YES I AM SURE.
I never heard anything about it after that.
Now a short story about being Monitored.
The 4th day of employment at the Water Department I E-Mailed from My Work E-Mail to My Personal E-mail a copy of the Monthly Schedule so I had it for reference. The next day it still had not arrived in My Personal E-mail so I went to resend it and I was locked out of My Work E-mail and started asking why. That’s when My stupidvisor asked who was coondogphilosophy@xxxxx.com ? I said that is My Personal E-mail.
Turns out that they were screening My work E-mail and they thought I was giving out sensitive Water Plant internal operations information to someone outside of the Plant.
Try using the ladies room sometime. See what that gets you. I can guess.

If anyone does not want you to call them by their actual male or female pronoun, then offer to use the all-inclusive pronoun She, He, It and/or Transexual, or just use the acronym S.H.I.T.

The day I get told I have to define my pronouns is the last day they’ll see me. Fortunately I am employed by a surprisingly conservatively run Fortune 500 company.
I’ve maintained to put and end to this stupid nonsense a dude should use the bathroom when a female HR rep does.
Outstanding idea. But I think that would take an inordinate amount of coordination to pull off.
I just use the universal pronoun of ‘weirdo’.
Start carrying a pocket size can of fart spray. See if that gets her to rethink her strategy.
