All throughout the modern history of Israel – the hand of God in rescuing the remnant from the gas chambers and the death camps in Europe; the hand of God in bringing them back to a land that once was a barren wasteland and now is one of the most fertile grounds in the world; the hand of God in reviving the old forgotten Hebrew language as the only means of communication between people that come from more than 80 different diasporas; the hand of God in making sure that the efforts to destroy the newborn state will fail.
God’s hand was all throughout the history of Israel as a newborn state, and for the past more than 66 years, God is there. The Bible says that, “He that keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.” The people of Israel are strong and resilient. The people of Israel have seen the great hand of God in protecting and providing everything they needed. And we’re holding onto the promise that God gave to Israel through the prophet Amos in the ninth chapter of his book: “‘And I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land that I have given them,’ says the Lord your God. Amen.”
At its birth in 1948, the nation of Israel was invaded by five armies who proclaimed a jihad, vowing to destroy Israel and spill every drop of their own blood, if necessary. When attacked, Israel did not own one tank or cannon and had nine outdated aircraft. The five invading armies were repelled, and Israel survived and even thrived.
Before the Six-Day War of 1967, President Nasser of Egypt announced, “The armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon are poised on the borders of Israel…to face the challenge, while standing behind us are the armies of Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Sudan, and the whole Arab nation. This act will astound the world. Today they will know that the Arabs are arranged for battle, the critical hour has arrived. We have reached the stage of serious action and not declarations.”
President Abdur Rahman Aref of Iraq joined in the war of words, saying, “The existence of Israel is an error which must be rectified. This is our opportunity to wipe out the ignominy which has been with us since 1948. Our goal is clear — to wipe Israel off the map.” On June 4, Iraq joined the military alliance with Egypt, Jordan, and Syria.
The Arab rhetoric was matched by the mobilization of Arab forces. Approximately 250,000 troops (nearly half in Sinai), more than 2,000 tanks, and 700 aircraft surrounded Israel. Yet again, outnumbered, outgunned, surrounded, and facing seemingly insurmountable odds, it took just six days for Israel to be victorious. East Jerusalem was taken, and the sound of these words resonated throughout the county: “The Temple Mount is in our hands!”
On October 6, 1973 — Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar — Egypt and Syria opened a coordinated surprise attack against Israel. Approximately 180 Israeli tanks faced an onslaught of 1,400 Syrian tanks. Along the Suez Canal, fewer than 500 Israeli defenders were attacked by 80,000 Egyptians (from the Jewish Virtual Library). Yet Israel was again victorious.
Even with all this clear evidence that Israel is once again a nation by the providence and promises of God, here we are again today with Israel under attack by those who hate the Jews.
Zechariah 12:3 KJV – “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”
The fact that what we are watching is spiritual in nature is proven by the world’s seeming indifference to rape, torture, and murder, as long as it is against the Jews. Sadly, many within the church have joined those labeling the Jews as occupiers and excusing the actions of the Palestinian terrorists as justified because of their oppression. Some do so under a banner proclaiming that modern Israel is not biblical Israel.
Genesis 12:3 KJV – “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
Genesis 12:7 KJV – “And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.”
Genesis 17:18-19 KJV – “And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! 19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.”
If modern Israel is not Biblical Israel, then why is the God of the Bible protecting it from those who want to annihilate its people? The answer is simple: He made the covenant, and it is His name and Word that is on the line.
In the famed passage of Genesis 12:3, we see a warning of curses followed by a promise of blessings which still stands true and is manifesting itself today. God said that through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob would come the Holy One of Israel, our Savior, and the world is still blessed by Him today. But if the promise is still true, the warning is as well.
The interesting thing about the warning is that “curse” and “curses” are two different Hebrew words. The word “curse” means “to treat bitterly.” The word “curses” means “to make light of or think little of.” In paraphrase, what we are told is those who think little of Israel will be treated bitterly by God for doing so.
History has proven this to be true concerning the modern nation of regathered Jews into their national homeland. It will be proven again in the current conflict, and, soon, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against Jerusalem, it will be proven again then too!
Zechariah 12:8-9 KJV – “In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.”
Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.
>>>Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.>>>>
Amen, the law reveals my sin. Only one definition of sin in scripture. Sin is transgression of the law. Before i was changed by Christ, the law was against me. Upon conversion, I delight in the law. The law has no power over me. I dont’ want to steal or lie or hate...and I love the Sabbath which was made for man. Paul says the law is holy just and good.
Those Christians who say the law is a curse are the same ones who say sin is homosexuality and abortion. See.....you have law too. You are just picky and choosy about your laws.
And all because of the Sabbath which is what it’s really about......The Sabbath was made for man. It was MADE. You can unmake what God made...sorry.
These texts in Romans 7 are a tough for dispensationalists:
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” 8 But sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead. 9 I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. 10 And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. 11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me. 12 Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.
Have we managed to recognize that the nation of Israel is not the same entity as its leaders in high places?
“All those who try to come against Israel and The Lord’s People will be bulldozed by The Lord Himself.”
And ... all those that have falsely accused and persecuted Netanyahu, just like they have Trump, will pay dearly. I only wish we would be allowed to witness that “reckoning” and the divine justice that God will be handing out.
Have we managed to recognize that the nation of Israel is not the same entity as its leaders in high places?
= = =
This is my thought train lately. Supporting Israel is not necessarily supporting Netenyahoo.
And it mioght not be sending arms to the IDF.
So . . . I ponder that.
All I see is the never ending attacks on Israel by the Palestinians and other Muslim factions. I see no evidence of the Lord lending a helping hand.
I've witnessed the never ending attacks on western civilization by the agents of Islam, but yet to witness any of God's hand in their protection.
I believe in a God but I have no belief that "He or It" has any hand in what is going on in this world today.
I believe that a God created this world and universe, but that's it.......
With that being said, I have an acquaintance that I play senior softball with who is a "Rabbi". But not a Rabbi in the true Jewish sense but rather a Christine Jew.
So what exactly is a Christian/Jew? I'm asking because I'm thinking about visiting his house of worship to see what it's all about.
What news are you reading? The US is hindering Israel - the best and almost only ally and purchaser in the Middle East - as well as supporting it, and helping little Israel's foes as it has for years.
I way I see it in brief, Israel lost its land - which, unlike Islam, was conquered due to incontrovertible Divine commandment - due to disobedience to God, and after a succession of conquerors, was was provided a portion of their land back by the last conqueror, while what were essentially squatters, repeatedly rejected offers of peaceful co-existence, which Israel's Arab citizens (about 20% of the Israel) do.
You may be against foreign aid in general, but when you support allies then it is not like a deficient to enemies. And the figures I see show,
The U.S. goods trade deficit with Saudi Arabia was $11.9 billion in 2022, a 359.1 percent increase ($9.3 billion) over 2021. In 2019, U.S. goods exports to Israel increased 5.1 percent to $14.4 billion from 2018. Since 1985, when the United States-Israel FTA came into force, U.S. exports to Israel have risen by 538 percent, although in 2019, the United States ran a $5.1 billion bilateral deficit in goods. - https://ustr.gov/countries-regions/europe-middle-east/middle-eastnorth-africa/saudi-arabia
And I also read:
Israel ends up sacrificing far more value in return for the nearly $4 billion it annually receives from Washington. That’s because nearly all military aid to Israel—other than loan guarantees, which cost Washington nothing, the U.S. gives Israel no other kind of aid—consists of credits that go directly from the Pentagon to U.S. weapons manufacturers
In 2019, leading liberal and progressive candidates vying for the Democratic nomination for president, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, and Julian Castro, all voiced support for making aid a condition of Israel allowing the U.S. to dictate its internal politics. As the price of its dependency, Israel is now being forced to downgrade its own defense industries. Whereas the previous MOU [Memorandum of Understanding] contained a special provision for Off-Shore Procurement (OSP) that allowed Israel to spend around 26% of the aid it received on domestic products, the new terms require that all aid received from Washington be spent inside the U.S.Recently, U.S. military aid to both Israel and the Palestinian territories has been dwarfed by U.S. aid to Ukraine, which last year totaled over $75 billion. That’s more aid than Israel has received from the U.S. during the entirety of the U.S.-Israel relationship.
Aid to Israel has never been an act of charity or a payment extorted by “the lobby,” but a tool to advance American interests. The list of these interests can change—historically, it has included counterterrorism, nuclear nonproliferation, and a balance of military power that favors America’s dominant strategic position in the Middle East. - https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/end-american-aid-israel
And this article is actually critical of the degree of aid, and the Memorandum of Understanding:
In return for accepting Obama’s aid package, Israel has now become dangerously reliant on U.S. military technology.
"I'm pointing out that no matter what - according to the Holy Scriptures, God is going to fulfill His Eternal Promises to Israel via some massive chastisement by forcing them to run to Him for shelter."
This is an everlasting, irrevocable, eternal covenant made to the Jews. Believers in the Savior, Jesus Christ, know it is truth. He CANNOT lie and the sins of His chosen people are not going to break the covenant. It's "ironclad". My belief, merely a hunch, is that even though I am 73, I will be taken in an event called the rapture before my death. Believing this premise has me also believing the present day Israel IS indeed the group of Jews who will have their hearts softened and be given ears to hear the eternal truth that Jesus Christ IS the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF ALL and recieve Him as the perfect Son of God. It will happen. Praise the Father for what He has done and what He will do.
It’s clear enough for anyone to see (divide) that literal Israel is out.
——>Matthew 21:43 “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.”
They won’t ever believe that. It doesn’t fit the Rapture narrative.
——>which no SDA has ever done because they reject futurism and Prophecy.
Futurism for sure. It comes from the Papacy, the Antichrist power, AS I’VE CLEARLY DOCUMENTED FROM HISTORY. I reject Futurism (now modern day Rapture doctrine) as did literally every Protestant Reformer and bible scholar at that time, including Sir Isaac Newton. But you’re a lot smarter than he was, right?
SDA’s reject Prophecy? No, only your version of Satan-inspired unbiblical prophecy.
Interesting...isn't it?
One thing typical nations don't do is get dispersed for 2,000 years, suffer persecution over and over again, remain as an identifiable people and culture, and then return as an independent nation. Conquered people are absorbed and disappear.
Says the demon-possessed Judaizer - laughable....
Amen, amen and amen!
True believers know it’s an eternal and irrevocable covenant.
Praise Jesus for His Promises!
Don’t tell that to dispensation zealots here
I simply did not grow up with this notion in my 1960s Southern Baptist church
We wished best for the Jews (with questions about their historical behavior and treatment )but nobody spoke all this stuff you see here
First time I heard Hagee rail on I was like when did this start
When the Klan mid 60s bombed Beth Israel temple because they associated local mostly Dixiecrat Jews (like most southerners then) with Jewish freedom riders from oberlin etc it caused friction and violence
Anyhow my church took the Jews in to use our sanctuary for services till Beth Israel could be repaired
It was just the right thing there was none of unusual stuff I see now
The big irony I suppose is leftist Jews are no question extremely influential in the attempted takedown of western civilization
Soros and Wyss are right now funding the instantly mobilized shock troops out on campi and streets with anti semitism and anti Israel violence
Yet who do liberal Jews lean on to push back
Why the very people who’s civilization their more radical brethren are working to dismantle
And I’m very much in that club
So am I stupid or just know right from wrong when I see it?
Jews have to make a decision
Israelis and I know Israel from business and life long Israeli pals already know who they can count on here
But domestic lefty Jews have to determine over two fears
Jew hating jihadis
Or the fear right leaning Christian people and culture is not a potential pogrom or final solution every time and needs protecting
Their fear of Christianity is not unfounded
Pogroms were worse than Hamas and the final solution was of course despite hyperbole here
But they have to stop this crap honestly you simply can’t help but notice it
Zionism took root in British Palestine and before than ottoman administerd rather than Europe due to bitter memories
Why don’t we get a homeland ?
Ours is under steady attack for bringing civilization to this planet
Israel also needs to get their babes breeding too btw
They are at risk over that
Or another millennium. No one knows except the Father.
