Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Acts 12

Herod’s Death

Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there. 20 He had been quarreling with the people of Tyre and Sidon; they now joined together and sought an audience with him. After securing the support of Blastus, a trusted personal servant of the king, they asked for peace, because they depended on the king’s country for their food supply.

21 On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people. 22 They shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not of a man.” 23 Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.

24 But the word of God continued to spread and flourish.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father,
We Stand in Awe of Your Majesty.
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
We Look To You For Deliverance,
Our Strength and our Song
Our Refuge in Times of Trouble,
Our Rock and Our Redeemer!
You created a Beautiful World,
With Everything We Need to Sustain Us.
We abide in the Shelter of Your Wings!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Starting with VCRs in the 1980s, a new phenomenon arose called "Binge Watching". No longer restrained to waiting a whole week for a cliff-hanger to be resolved, one could watch an entire season in one sitting. While this was a GOOD thing if the series was Jesus of Nazareth, it was debatable whether Binge-Watching I, Claudius was nearly as edifying. In the intervening years, series have gotten much more explicit and violent.

Ironically, both "Jesus of Nazareth" and "I, Claudius" have a nasty, violent character named Herod. Same name, same repulsive character, but different guys. There were actually FOUR Herods that ruled in Judea, and they made The Sopranos look like choirboys.

The Herod in this story died a hideous painful death, and was the Herod featured in "I, Claudius".

According to Josephus, (Antiquities 19.8.2) Herod was hosting a festival honoring his old buddy Claudius who was now the Emperor. He wore a silver robe that caught the sunlight and made him shine like some kind of god. When the people began to worship him, he accepted the worship and reveled in it. (BAD IDEA!). But, such a thing would never happen in our modern world, or would it?

A little over eighteen years ago, a Young, Black, Freshman Senator from Illinois made a speech at the Democrat National Convention that, to those of his persuasion, seemed really awesome. Political pundits theorized that he would be the First African American President, even though Black men and women of much higher qualifications had run for the office before. This particular person seemed to come out of nowhere, and had already blocked access to any records that would prove or disprove his eligibility. Many Conservatives dismissed the thought and focused their energies elsewhere. Most were more concerned about Hillary Clinton than this other person.

Meanwhile, the political machine behind this person began to lionize him and portray him as a type of messiah. Some of the media portrayed him with a halo and other religious symbolism, and scores of "artists" did some really bad religious art (some of it truly laughable) with him in the center. Four years after the speech at the convention, the man was elected President of the United States.

What started out as just normal fawning of the Press became something worse. If one did not like this particular man or his policies, one was branded as a "racist" or worse. Meanwhile, conservatives debated whether the man was incompetent, or just plain evil. Sometimes it was hard to tell.

Perhaps the most egregious thing was that this man accepted worship from people even though he was not God. We chafed and wondered, Why doesn't God "do a Herod" on him? He's letting people call him a messiah! Maybe he's the Antichrist! Show us a sign!

Oddly enough, there were signs. Rats running around a podium when he was speaking, flies landing on his face, etc. This was stuff that NEVER happened with any other president, whatever their party. I'm not saying it was God...but it WAS weird.

Now we are reaping the bitter harvest of those eight years of idol worship. Unlike every other Ex-President (except Woodrow Wilson, incapacitated by a stroke) the aforementioned Ex-President purchased a home in Washington DC. He didn't go home to Chicago or Hawaii, or wherever he came from. He seems to have unduly enriched by his time in the Presidency. And...many feel that he is still "calling the shots".

Dear Lord, Deliver Us From Evil, We Pray!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Obama’s rise was so fishy from the get-go. Spiritual forces at work. And the press was his mistress.

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

Psalm 63

A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah.

1 O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
3 Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
4 So I will bless you as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands and call on your name.

5 My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast,*
and my mouth praises you with joyful lips
6 when I think of you on my bed,
and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
7 for you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.
8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.

9 But those who seek to destroy my life
shall go down into the depths of the earth;
10 they shall be given over to the power of the sword,
they shall be prey for jackals.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God;
all who swear by him shall exult,
for the mouths of liars will be stopped.

When a nation turns its back on God and embraces abominations, we get leaders like 0bama and Biden (0bama 2.0). America has been fundamentally transformed just as he promised.

I truly believe we, as a nation, are now facing the consequences of our sin. We see now secular Israel going through the same.
