Last month at his Pastors Conference, rank heretic and televangelist Benny Hinn stood before the audience with his son-in-law and made a staggering confession. He said that he told his son-in-law that he would not be able to marry his daughter until they co-habitated for a while first and everyone got to know each other.
Standing with his son-in-law next to him, he said “And before he [son-in-law] was married to my daughter, he lived with us for how long? A year and a half, two years. Because I said, listen, you will not marry my girl till I get to know you. So you’re going to live with us.”
He then said that during the co-habitating period, they traveled a lot together and that he saw a “miraculous change” in his daughter, who had apparently had issues with running with the wrong crowd during her teenage years in Orlando.

The term cohabitating was used by the author of this piece, not by Hinn.
That said, my brother once suggested something like this to my Dad ...my Dad and Mom said NO! Not in our house and not at hers.
So he had to hold his horses several more years before graduating from high school and finishing college before finally getting a place and marrying her. They have been married now 40 years.

I thought Old Order Amish were the only ones who were still keeping the bundling tradition alive.
What is bundling?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bundling_(tradition)
Bundling, or tarrying, or bed courting, is the traditional practice of wrapping a couple together in a bed sometimes with a board between the two of them, usually as a part of courting behavior. The tradition is thought to have originated either in the Netherlands or in the British Isles and later became common in colonial United States,[1][2] especially in Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Bundling is associated with the Amish as a form of courtship.

“Why does that scheisster even have a following?”
It’s a Pentecostal/Charismatic/Assemblies of God thing. Some of those traveling preachers are very good at working the crowd. Maybe it has to do with cycles-per-second, or frequencies... or sun spots. But the whole “show” done right is very interesting to watch.

24 hr. “close” supervision, in a large dwelling.
Not close quarters-sleeping rooms/ distant separate baths. Distant no contact
Observe behavior all other times 24 hrs with family members present and interacting
Sounds good

Thank you that is the verse I was trying to remember in post 5.
I can only say “it looks bad” but I know what I meant.

In this context, rather, it seems that "cohabitating" simply means "living under the same roof (but in different bedrooms)." Which is kind of like saying "the cake you love is in the refrigerator, but you cannot have any of it while we are out, or otherwise, for 18 months."
Note that this was about 20 years ago (married 20 years now), and long term chastity btwn couples is possible, also, maybe this was in a large house with hired help.

I kept mistaking him for Benny Hill. I was waiting for the girls in bikinis to go running around onstage to “Yakety Sax.”

On March 7, 2017, two LDS apostles welcomed a new Catholic bishop to Utah.
Many people around the world, including some members of the LDS Church, have wondered what relationship Mormons have with the Catholic Church. Two LDS apostles, Elder M. Russell Ballard and Elder D. Todd Christofferon, along with Elder L. Whitney Clayton of the Presidency of the Seventy, set a great example of the close friendship the Church strives to cultivate with Catholics as they attended the installation ceremony of Oscar A. Solis, a native of the Philippines, who was appointed by Pope Francis to lead the Diocese of Salt Lake City. Mormon Newsroom details this event, which took place at Salt Lake City’s Cathedral of the Madeleine, in the article “Mormon Apostles Welcome New Catholic Bishop in Utah.”
Whew! They left US outta that list!
