(2 Peter 1:20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (Isaiah 28:10) For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: (Isaiah 28:13) But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
Is this a Great NAtion or WHAT!?
There's also this comment in the letter authorized to be sent.....
Acts 15:22-29 Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men from among them and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They sent Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers, with the following letter: “The brothers, both the apostles and the elders, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greetings.
Since we have heard that some persons have gone out from us and troubled you with words, unsettling your minds, although we gave them no instructions, it has seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will tell you the same things by word of mouth. For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.”
There was unity among the whole church as they followed the leading of the Holy Spirit as would be expected.
In your dreams maybe.
*God with us* means the Incarnation. Mary gave birth to Jesus, since the Holy Spirit calls her *the mother of Jesus*. NOWHERE does He ever refer to her as God's mother. That would lead to error about God.
No and that’s a silly damn deflection here. No, it’s obvious to everyone that God invented human sexuality for it’s marital purposes. But why do you diminish the choosing of Mary and Joseph as ordinary? Why on earth would you equate those 2 people with the run-of-the-mill “sex between husband and wife”? Do you believe they were called to be different than you or I?
No, it isn't. You all are the ones claiming the exception for whatever reason.
Prophecy was that a virgin conceive and bear a son. She did. Therefore, the prophecy was fulfilled with His birth and her virginity is no longer a factor.
Well I don’t know anything about that sort of self-proclamation,
God tells us Himself in Scripture that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. No *self-proclamation involved there.
All your rationalization, twisted *logic*, and wishful thinking did not produce ONE verse of Scripture to support the perpetual virginity of Mary.
The Holy Spirit is involved in the consummation of a marriage.
All your post does is confirm that Catholicism teaches and believes that sex between husband and wife is base, carnal, evil, sinful, and unholy.
“Nope” is not much of an answer but then again there is not much difference in the methodology of the Seventh Day Adventist faith community and that of other modern Protestant faith communities.
What's left of it sure is!!
You sure dance around revelation bro!
Literal Greek translation…
“ Matthew 1:22–25 (WUESTNT): And he took to himself his wife, and lived in absolute continence with her until she gave birth to a son. And he called His name Jesus.”
Continence - self restraint, especially abstinence from sexual intercourse
Until - up to the time.
Simple as that.
They waited. Then they celebrated sexual love, as God created.
Well...what day(s) do you go to Mass?
It is a story they are weaned on that never happened. It supports Mary's ascension to being a demigoddes - pure, holy, undefiled, but approachable. But made up to incorporate paganism into what remained of roman christianity.
And now, having been indoctrinated, not only can the Roman mind not imagine mary any other way, but they are far more willing to approach the Demigoddess Mary than the Father, having abandoned the Gospel of Grace. "The Father is mean, but the Mother is approachable and loving."
How about we start calling her that, Blessed?
How, bout we go with what Scripture says....
48“For He has had regard for the humble state of His bondslave; For behold, from this time on all generations will count me blessed. Luke 1:48 NASB
But James uses the term as a verb akin to Luke...difference being in Luke's case it's a future verb while in James it's a present verb.
We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful. James 5:11 NASB
AND the general term of blessed is used some 50 times in the NT in describing believers.
Bkmk
Like worshipping a Sunday Sabbath.
We can do so.
You must violate scripture to do so.
I thought Mary called Joseph a horny old goat, for wanting sex with her. Oh well, horny toad works too. See, the cold shower, that Mary had installed in their house, didn’t work. The fact that Joseph was still asking Mary to give up her charms, is proof the cold shower didn’t work. Do you suppose James, Jude and the rest of the kids, must have wondered, what was the name of the stork who brought them, since Mary was an ever virgin. 😆😊 Joseph must have been a frustrated dude, and I don’t think he even tried to understand, that she needed to remain a virgin, for all her billions of followers. 😆😂
On second thought, Mary must have been a sinner. Paul said not to defraud your spouse of your charms. She did, therefore she is a sinner. I used my Sherlock Holmes style deductive reasoning, to figure it out. You know, Solomon was a very wise man, but Solomon sometimes asked me for advice on matters. You remember Solomon said, cut the baby in half? That was my advice to Solomon, since both he and I knew the real mother, would never go for that.
I also helped the Philosophers of Ellatha (Greece) make decisions too. I was just an all around good guy. 😁😆😂😊😄🤔
We do know that James and
Jude did later on.
Would you agree then that something
is wrong with scripture concerning these blood brothers,
and that this scripture contradicts, and is not inerrant?
Would you agree to that premise upfront?
Yep. John was charged with taking care of her.
If you’re gonna try the Mary of Clopas angle it doesn’t work.
