Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Luke 19

Jesus at the Temple

45 When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling. 46 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be a house of prayer’[c]; but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’[d]”

47 Every day he was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him. 48 Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
How Hallowed,
Magnificent,
and Sanctified
is Your Most Holy Name!
How Blessed and How True is Your Word,
and How Mighty!
How Glorious,
to Span the Millennia,
To be Unfettered by Time and Space,
To Know The End from the Beginning
and the beginning from The End!
For it is You, Oh LORD,
Who designed the Galaxies with Your Compass,
And Mapped Out the Vast Reaches of Space
With Your Word and Your Omniscient Imagination!
Scientists tell us even the heavens are finite.
But YOU are Infinite!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Just yesterday, I was watching a Video that is part of a series called Israel MyChannel.

The Host of the Channel lives in Jerusalem, and takes narrated walking tours through the City.

Yesterday's Tour went from the Jaffa Gate to Mount Zion, a side trip through the City of David and the Arab neighborhood of Silwan, along the Kidron Valley, and finally, to the Garden of Gethsemane. It was the same walk I took (only in the opposite direction) in 1984. Though a lot has changed in 40 years, some things have not. Forty years ago, there was a little cafe and convenience store just outside the Dung Gate. (so named because it was the gate through which garbage and waste were removed from the City in ancient times). The Cafe had a name that caused great hilarity among the tourists. The cafe is still there, but the name is no longer "The Dung Cafe". Now the sign just says "Cafe".

Beside the Temple Mount Wall is an Archaeology site, that I remembered from my Tour. Much more has been excavated since I was there. The Vlogger walked between row upon row of stone enclosures, which were like stalls in a Flea Market. This, he explained, was the place in the Temple precincts where animals could be purchased for sacrifice. When I explored the same area with an Archaeologist, she explained that many coins from all over the Roman Empire had also been dug up in this area. Seeing this area again on Video, with much more excavation and construction, gave me the same thrill it did many years ago. This could have been the very place where Jesus cleansed the Temple.

These Video Tours are very slow paced, as I think the host may be an older man. I walk too fast anyway, and sometimes miss things because of it.

Due to my hearing loss, I always click on the closed captions. These are helpful, but sometimes the computer-generated captions are just plain wrong. The Vlogger has an Israeli accent, and the captions kept getting "Gethsemane" wrong. The captions kept translating "Gethsemane" as "get some money"!

As I remember, there were always people around the Sacred Sites, trying to sell handicrafts, religious items, and postcards. Things have not changed much in 2000 years.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

I know! :-) This one was both hilarious and Ironic, considering the subject matter.

I just found out my brother had a stroke yesterday. He is in the hospital and is being “difficult”.

Please pray for Tom, that he will bbe healed of any bad effects of the stroke, and that he will listen to the advice of his physicians.

Thanks.

Psalm 93

1 The Lord is king, he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed, he is girded with strength.
He has established the world; it shall never be moved;
2 your throne is established from of old;
you are from everlasting.

3 The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
the floods have lifted up their voice;
the floods lift up their roaring.
4 More majestic than the thunders of mighty waters,
more majestic than the waves* of the sea,
majestic on high is the Lord!

5 Your decrees are very sure;
holiness befits your house,
O Lord, for evermore.
