In this video we discuss why all Christians should pray the Rosary.
We know the story well- too well- so we don't question ay hypothetical why...
But Mary's initial - real time- response to the Angel was Why me?... and how?
God had chosen Mary since the beginning.
God wanted it this way,
and God wanted ALL generations to call her Blessed.
Veneration of Mary would seem proper then.
Not worship of her, not looking to her as a Savior-
and not looking at her as competing with Jesus.
Simply calling her Blessed, and living out what we think that should mean,
as God intended.
That's why you Trust in God, always.
There are many different ways to pray the rosary. Pick the one that suits you."

If you are referring to me, the OP, as Catholic, that's one of the nicest things anyone has ever said about me. Thank you.
You're right, I didn't mean to set off a nuclear bomb with this thread, While I'm not officially Catholic, I had hope that at least a few people would find value in the video I posted and the Rosary, as I have. Perhaps, a few of the less vocal ones have and will investigate further. It's hard to deny the many approved apparitions of Mary along with the attendant miracles and healings at locations such as Lourdes, Fatima, Mexico City, Zeitoun, etc., many of which occurred after the Reformation. To disregard them and the messages given as demonic or mass hallucinations is pure folly.
To the extent that the Rosary helps bring people peace and the grace to have greater love for God and one another, I say a-men!
The way it's written:
There IS no apparent position.
The text is clear on the FACT that the angel TOLD Mary what was going to happen before she ever speaks.
Luke 1:26-38 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)
26 And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
28 And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 Who having heard, was troubled at his saying, and thought with herself what manner of salutation this should be.
30 And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God.
31 Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever.
33 And of his kingdom there shall be no end.
34 And Mary said to the angel: How shall this be done, because I know not man?
35 And the angel answering, said to her: The Holy Ghost shalt come upon thee, and the power of the most High shalt overshadow thee. And therefore also the Holy which shalt be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
36 And behold thy cousin Elizabeth, she also hath conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her that is called barren:
37 Because no word shalt be impossible with God.
38 And Mary said: Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
Or even any place GOD asks if it's OK if HE does this or that!
The minions of Rome sure do not like it when their 'Mary' is shown to be non-biblical.
The only thing y’all can agree on is you think the Catholic Church is wrong.
'When I tell you what imagery found in Scripture REALLY means,' the magnificant Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather superior tone, ' it means just whomever I choose it to mean, neither more nor less; but sometimes two or more different things at once.' 'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can define imagery to mean so many different things.' 'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, C.SS.R, S.S.L., O.F.M, S.T.D 'which is to be master - that's all.' |
The problem with Catholicism is that you augment your history to justify listening to apparitions that tell you extra stuff to do and believe.
Only if ya believe that Isaiah fella.
Mary was told of God’s plan, and it mattereth not whether she jumped up and down with joy at this 'news', or went screaming from the room; it was STILL gonna happen just as she was told.
You could explain it to him, but you can’t overcome YEARS of the pounding of the story into his spirit.
The weapons of our warfare are not carnal.
Some of the starfish are just going to have to perish.
How many TIMES a day?
Go ahead and continue to believe that. I won't argue with you any more, as it's not worth my time.
I still do not agree with your vision of God as rapist.
Oh: and GOOGLE® too!
Keep reading. You’ll get to #422 soon.
Mark 6:3-5
3 Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? Aren’t His sisters here with us as well?” And they took offense at Him.
4 Then Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown, among his relatives, and in his own household is a prophet without honor.”
5 So He could not perform any miracles there, except to lay His hands on a few of the sick and heal them.
I think I see the problem here...
If I believe in Jesus I AM already forgiven
