Well, you're consistent then.
May I ask what Faith denomination you adhere or belong to?

I am striving to be like Abraham, Moses and Enoch. They are Friends of God.
Some say to be like Jesus——Yes,Good.
But Jesus said “His Friends do His commandments.”
.
Abraham and Enoch walked and spoke With God.
Moses saw God from the cleft of a Rock.
.
We don’t need a Rosary to walk with Jesus.

Sweet Jesus...
You're non-denom, DIY...
With a smidge of Iconoclasm...

Now that is interesting.

I identify as a member of the ekklesia. Keeps things easier to explain.

I looked up the Rosary and seems quite familiar and the ‘Our Father..’ I say nightly searching every word.
‘On Earth as it is in Heaven’ jumped out as We as Believers will stand before and with Jesus! To see and touch the Nail prints and gaze upon the thorn prints on
His Precious Brow.
Nothing else will matter.
The Bible is all we need Now.

At the wedding at Cana some ECFs contend Mary was doing the very thing in your post: asking for something not in accordance with His will. Several attribute this haste as a sin on her part.

You're suggesting that Mary is even more influential that some RC's contend.

If this was "not in accordance to His will," yet Jesus did it anyway because Mary asked, what does that say about her influence?

I always thought that Mary had no idea about Jesus' powers at this point. She just asked if He could help. And He did help, way more than anyone expected, with this, His first miracle.

Why do you all need tools in the first place?

As has been stated several times in this thread, these traditions - rosary beads, icons, saints, relics - are not needed. But they help.

And nowhere does it say that HE respects people who we look at and see as righteous.

You're misquoting me.

I never said that He respects people who WE regard as righteous. He respects people who HE regards as righteous.

You've overlooked the argument that God said he would destroy the people of Israel for their sins, until Moses interceded for them. And for righteous Moses' sake, God spared the Israelites.

As if a Hebrew girl would turn down the choice of being the mother of Christ. Luke records the interaction so we’d have an accurate record of what happened.

Many Hebrew girls would have turned down that choice. Israel was famous for its idol worship and apostasy.

Plus, being "chosen" by God was rarely a path to an easy life. Many OT prophets suffered mightily during their ministries, as did all of Jesus' apostles.

Jonah and Moses actually tried to get out of being chosen for their missions.

So Mary is to be honored for her choice to accept.

Or do you think that there would be a Jewish virgin who would say *No* to being told she would be the mother of the Messiah?

See my post 292.

Luke wasn’t even alive or anywhere close. He couldn’t have recorded the interaction.

According to tradition, Luke was a historian who interviewed many of the early eyewitnesses to Christ's ministry, including Mary.

for Mary to be able to hear/respond properly and timely to all these prayers she has to be as capable as God.

Not at all.

If Mary and the Saints heard and responded to all prayers, it would be only a fraction of what God knows and can do.

They would still not know the position of every subatomic particle in the universe, or the answer to so many questions, such as the day of final judgement, or how each soul would be judged, etc.

The Bible does tell us to pray for, and with others. Paul tells others to pray for him several times

2 Th 3:1-2: Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course...

My old man would pray to Jesus and God, but also to his mom and dad. I didn’t know enough at the time, and I wouldn’t have corrected him on it even if I did.

A pastor once said something like “And regarding praying to your loved ones in heaven. They’re up there with God and Jesus! Do you really think they are going to turn their heads from what is going on up there to see what is happening on earth?”

Also the promise that in heaven we will have no sadness or struggles. Pretty sure my old man would be pretty sad looking at what is going on in my live and the world.

Although perhaps not - as he knows how it turns out in the end!

Assuming that he is in heaven. But that is a whole ‘nother topic (do we go to heaven when we die, or only when Christ returns and creates a new heaven and earth?)

That isn’t Scripture.

Didn’t the early children of Israel, also worship the queen of heaven, and get punished for it? I think it all goes back to the worship of Nimrod. I think the religion of Nimrod, was widespread throughout the world, at the time of Jesus. Remember, the people, screaming “great is Diana of the Ephesians.” In fact, his religion, might have been more successful than Christianity, and in some ways, is still popular today.

“The Bible does tell us to pray for, and with others.”

You’re right. Definitely. It’s a “big deal” in Christianity

And only pray FOR the living because it’s too late for those already gone. Their decisions were made while they were living. Believing that you can light a candle and pray someone in to Heaven is fantasy.

And only pray TO God, in Jesus’ name. Praying to a dead person, including Mary, is futile. It’s also strictly prohibited in Scripture, getting into the sorcery area.

Interesting that your dad would pray to parents. Like your pastor pretty much said, since there’ll be no sorrow in Heaven it’s doubtful that God would have anyone there observing what’s going on down here now. Talk about sorrow!

From the context, Mary was clearly requesting his help.

'Do whatever he tells you' is not ASKING anything.

I thought you were Protestant. Are you an atheist?

Are you intentionally trying to pick a fight?
