“The modern world, and especially the history of the present century, can only be understood in terms of the unusual activity of the devil and the “principalities and powers” of darkness…In a world of collapsing institutions, moral chaos, and increasing violence, never was it more important to trace the hand of the “prince of the power of the air.” If we cannot discern the chief cause of our ills, how can we hope to cure them?” The Christian Warfare, Martin Lloyd-Jones

Not so invisible war with evil.
God is in total control and even evil serves a good purpose in God’s Plan.
Amen and Amen; great post. Thank you.
thx!
We are living in perilous times.
Not surprising. We, as a nation, have turned our backs on God in every aspect of life.
We expelled him from our schools, places of business, government and all the social media sites.
Is it any wonder that we are reaping what we sow.
Who says it’s invisible?
While I agree with much of what the author says, his black and white, good vs evil lines of demarcation are based upon an illiterate undrrstanding of much that he judges as evil.
One could go to early Christianity and look at the merging of Early Christian, Jewish, and Mithras traditions and say the same about Christianity as it is practiced today.
The author really doesn’t understand what Jesus was trying to teach us. He’s missing the message for the added periphery.
🙏
Yes, the weeds Jesus warned us about in Matthew 13 are here, and are many.
James 1 is a good reminder.
19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
I always wondered why when Jesus met the demon possessed man at the tombs, cast the demon into the pigs, that the town “came out to meet Him” and asked him to LEAVE.
The pig herders lost their entire herd.
Pig/pork was a forbidden food for Jews, so these were gentiles.
The demons knew their time and asked if it arrived early.
The town did not celebrate, they told the Son of God to leave.
But in the end: As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. 19 Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” 20 So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis[b] how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.
What does that have to do with today’s Demonic Darkness? There is a significance in that the demon’s seemed to know their ‘time.’ Yet, Christians are told only God knows the final hour or when Jesus will be sent to gather us up.
I have pondered greatly over the countdown clock regarding how many years humans have left. They know their time grows short. Do we as Christians realize this? Are we as Christians looking up and preparing? Are we like the demon possessed man and telling the pagan world all that Jesus has done for us?
Or is the world like town and in fear telling us to leave, rejecting the Salvation of God’s promise?
Sometimes I think we miss the point of this event in the Bible. The Decapolis was not part of Israel at the time of Jesus. The people of the Decapolis region were pagans.
Yes, and as with ancient Jews in Isaiah's time, weeds have been following after much higher occultists, certainly at Global levels where Illumined Masonry and celebration of Baphomet flourishes
.
What is it you believe Jesus was trying to tell us?
Just a thought, but knowing that your "time isn't up" isn't the same thing as knowing the exact time it will be up.
What the demons said might be translated as "we know that one day our freedom will be taken away, but we also know that day isn't 'today'."
Side note: Looks like "time was up" for these particular demons...as least as it pertained to their possession of this particular man.
Looks to me like we are being judged.
No disagreement with you at all.
but I still find the rest of the account interesting too.
Yep, me too. As you indicated in your first comment, there’s the surface story...and then there are all these other, deeper things going on, each with its own rabbit hole.
It’s not even close to being invisible.
