I’m old enough to remember when they used to say that “it’ll take 50 years to fully implement Vatican II.” When the 50th anniversary of the close of the council came and went in 2015, they bumped it up to 100 years. I suspect that the liberal wing of Catholicism will be moribund by 2065, but if there are of them left, they’ll be saying, “Just you wait! It takes 200 years to fully implement an ecumenical council.”
This pope makes my Catholic faith suffer.
