Pope Clown has made further modifications to the (don’t laugh) “synodal process”.
I think he might have done us a favour.
The new measures are more cosmetic “inclusion”, with the participation of women and lay men instead of bishops only, but with Francis making all decisions himself anyway. The result of this is that the synod becomes indistinguishable from a Sunday afternoon “meet the faithful” exercise, at the end of which Francis excrements at his pleasure; and will, therefore, be discounted even more by the faithful than a normal synod would have been.
Every idiot understands that religion is not dependent on what people, particularly lay people, think, or vote. A Catholic idiot understands it even faster than a non-Catholic one, because of the natural role of the hierarchy in the life of the Church.
The casual Catholic reader who is informed that a new “synod” (of which he never knew what it was in the first place) with the vote of women and laymen, has approved this and that, will forget in three seconds what it was all about and move to more interesting and relevant things in life like sports, politics, the history of the semicolon, or watching paint dry.
Francis is making his circus-church like the world. In this way, his circus-church becomes indistinguishable from the world and, basically, invisible. This is, in the current circumstances, the best that can be hoped for and allow for the perennial teaching of the Church to be spread more easily.
As the next measure, I suggest that Francis organises, together with women and lay people, a tombola, a karaoke, and a cooking contest.
We are almost there already, anyway.

But since we're so stupid and you're so smart, please give us your well thought-out counterargument disproving Aquinas' proof of God from necessary and contingent existence.
As you delve deeper, you just tend to go in whatever direction you were already leaning anyhow, usually.
Only if you have a secular or atheist lean to begin with, is what you say true.
If you think about religion, but have a pious leaning, then it only makes you more devout.
The “attack” on religion started with the rise of Marx and his ideas, circa 1860s. As these became more popular, spread though Europe first and then came to the US, and morphed into even more and different flavors of the same crap, the fight against God only became greater: “the opiate of the masses.”
For a socialist, it’s not logic or reason why he opposes God and religion, for it is neither provable nor un-provable that God exists. It’s not a matter of science at all.
For a socialist/communist, religion stands in opposition or competing for power and influence. Religion is a pesky set of rules and ideas that get in the way may it be a communist China, Nazi Hitler, or Socialist Soviet Union.
As the West today becomes more like the former East of the past, egalitarian, centralized in power, and using perversion for political gain (abortion, LGBTQIA+, euthanasia, sterilization of young and childless people, childless career oriented couples, etc.) religion finds itself ever more in the cross-hairs.
Socialists don’t like competition. Today the US even has Stalin/Hitler/Mao like purges (6 January that’s what that was), but thankfully we don’t shoot everyone and throw them in mass graves, yet. Religion is a competing force.
“Religion is a competing force.”
BINGO!
Francis is aligned with the Davos crowd.
Don't be like the liberals that talk about inclusion and free speech but then censor everything they disagree with or don't like.
Only the most offensive and directed at a person posts should be censored. If there is zero argument and only profane language, that should go.
Who here hasn't heard that idea insinuated that only dumb people believe in God?
When someone like that posts an idea like that, they become target practice and we learn from each other as he gets dissected
When you censor like Facebook, Google, Twitter and Instagram did regards Covid, what really happened? They became sterile, and information people should have had, pro and con masks, vaccines, the accuracy of reporting, social distancing, testing... was not available.
I disagree. I think post #3 was disrespectful to religion in general and thereby violated the rules of the Catholic Caucus. If this had not been posted in the Catholic Caucus then I would agree with you wholeheartedly.
*However*, this is a Catholic Caucus thread and so posts like #3 are out-of-line. I should have noted that and not responded.
Sorry,
I was hoping the moderator would see my post which he did.
Wasn’t trying to target you actually. Didn’t know how to reach the moderator. You’d think after 21 years on the FR and with an EE I’d know.
But, we all hear these arguments anyhow, in school, the movies, social circles, in some cases even political figures... and it gives us a chance to see the arguments we each have.
You can just put “Religion Moderator” in the “To” box. Or, if a post is abusive and _should_ be removed, click “Report Abuse” and explain your complaint privately.
