Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Mark 15
The Death of Jesus
33 At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. 34 And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).[b]
35 When some of those standing near heard this, they said, “Listen, he’s calling Elijah.”
36 Someone ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to take him down,” he said.
37 With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.
38 The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. 39 And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died,[c] he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!”
40 Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joseph,[d] and Salome. 41 In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our God!
How Wonderful and Excellent is Your Holy Name!
LORD, You Are The ROCK
upon which we must rest our weary heads!
And We in America,
Must Take this into our hearts.
And You Are The Only Rock On Which We May Stand.
There Is No Other.
Bless You, And Thank You, Abba,
For The New Song Of Praise
That You Have Given Us To Sing!
For Your Lovingkindness is Everlasting,
And Your Mercies Are New Every Morning!
From The Rising of The Sun,
To Its Beautiful Setting,
Every Day,
The Name Of Our LORD is to be Praised!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

The following is from a commentary I wrote on this thread back in 2019 about Psalm 49:
Sometimes, when I can't sleep, I make lists in my head. A few nights ago, I listed all the schools I attended, jobs I had worked, and places I used to go for entertainment or personal enrichment. Of the 38 places that I could remember, only 3 still exist. Both my Junior High and High School have been turned into housing for the elderly, The companies I worked for in telecommunications have long been dissolved, and the theaters and venues long since torn down and turned into condos and strip-malls. It would take an urban Archaeologist to determine if these once bastions of civilization even existed at all.
The dashing, adventurous figure of Indiana Jones has caused a renewed interest in Biblical Archaeology that is reflected in popular culture and the media. One could argue that the craze is not limited to BIBLICAL Archaeology, but even the relative popularity of the films themselves shows that Biblical artifacts seem to generate more interest than the treasures of other cultures. Movies #1 and #3 were about the Ark of the Covenant and the Cup of Christ respectively. Movies #2 and #4 were about a Hindu artifact and a crystal skull. Both Box Office and Critical Reviews reflect that (unlike the first four Star Trek movies) the odd-numbered films were far better than the even numbered ones.
I include the fascination with Egypt as part of this trend, because Egypt figures very prominently in Scripture, especially the First Five Books. The unearthing of Ancient Egypt is a huge commodity on Cable, along with investigations into Templar Tales, Crusader Ruins, and secret tunnels under The Temple Mount. Even the Oak Island digging is thought to be after some kind of treasure from the Bible, stolen from the Holy Land during the Crusades. The History/Entertainment pundits have even found a way to link The Crusades, Early Native American Empires, The Templars, Christopher Columbus, Pirates of the Caribbean, Nova Scotia, The Founding Fathers, The Freemasons, the Nazi's demented search for artifacts to prove their vile philosophy, and the Street-Plan of Washington DC, into one big bundle that all points to one thing: TREASURE.
Although Archaeology purports to be a search for Truth, it is constantly plagued by "Treasure Hunters". Even the great names associated with Archaeology have been found with secret stashes of unreported TREASURE, which never made it into museums. The two things: Treasure and Power, have motivated a lot of our History, Entertainment, Lore, Legends, and even Political maneuvering throughout the centuries.
And then there are folks who live their lives quietly, working daily to make ends meet, and counting upon God for their sustenance. This is a far greater "treasure" than anything that can be dug up from under the earth. It is more precious than Gold, more powerful than Plutonium, and more satisfying than the fruits of Eden. It is the Presence of God. St. Paul tells us that "We have this Treasure in earthen vessels" (2 Corinthians 4:7) and it is worth more than all the Wealth of Solomon, or even the Wisdom of Our Founding Fathers.
And so, in the last of this Series of Seven Psalms for the Sons of Korah" we are encouraged to NEVER envy those who have more money than we do. Jesus even speaks of this in The Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 16:
…25For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
And so, in spite of the fact that 35 out of 38 huge, monolithic, institutions of my lifetime have crumbled to dust, these three things remain:
1. I am redeemed by the Blood of The Lamb.
2. I am clothed in HIS Righteousness.
3. I am Accepted in the Beloved.
And that's worth more than all the treasure in the world.
I have been interested in Archaeology since I was a little kid, visiting Boston's Museum of Fine Arts with my parents. Although the MFA has a magnificent collection of Paintings (especially the French Impressionists), I always made a beeline to the Egyptian Collection. Little did I know that a lot of the Ancient Art was never seen by the ordinary Egyptians, but was kept in gloomy little temples, surrounded by huge halls of pillars, labyrinths of halls, and armies of priests to keep the interior goings-on a secret. The "god" may have been allowed out once a year, carried on a litter on the backs of the priests, surrounded by guards, and paraded around a bit before being returned to his dark little room at the end of the enormous temple complex.
The Temple in Jerusalem was built on the pattern prescribed by The One True God, as spoken by Moses. The first temple was a portable tent in the desert. There was an inner room, called the Holy of Holies, which was forbidden to all except the High Priest. This was separated from the rest of the Temple by a heavy curtain. (Exodus 26:31-33) That curtain, (called the "Veil"), marked the entrance, and was respected by all. It was not made of stone, nor was it guarded by legions of priests and armed men, but everyone knew that any attempt to breach it would be met with a fiery death from Above. Even ordained priests could not approach the Holy of Holies in an unauthorized manner (see Leviticus 10).
The design of the Tabernacle and the Holy of Holies was carried over into both Solomon's Temple and the Second Temple which had been renovated and expanded by Herod. By this time, the Temple had become quite impressive, made of dressed stone, and covered a large area. Its courtyards were open to the common people, but the Holy of Holies was still barred by a Veil. Only, by now, the Veil was no longer a portable, tent-like, curtain. It was big, heavy, thick, and encrusted with embroidery. There was no way anybody could tear it.
When Jesus died on the Cross, the Veil in the Temple was split, from Top to Bottom in a cataclysmic instant. This signified that it was God ripping the curtain (from the Top Down), and opening up the Holy of Holies for us all to enter (See Hebrews 9:8, 10, 12, and Hebrews 10:19-20).
Something else just occurred to me. When a Jewish person expresses extreme grief, He tears his clothing. Could the Rending of the Veil also be a sign of the Grief of Our Heavenly Father upon the Death of His Only Begotten Son? Just a thought.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.

Psalm 73
A Psalm of Asaph.
1 Truly God is good to the upright,*
to those who are pure in heart.
2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled;
my steps had nearly slipped.
3 For I was envious of the arrogant;
I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 For they have no pain;
their bodies are sound and sleek.
5 They are not in trouble as others are;
they are not plagued like other people.
6 Therefore pride is their necklace;
violence covers them like a garment.
7 Their eyes swell out with fatness;
their hearts overflow with follies.
8 They scoff and speak with malice;
loftily they threaten oppression.
9 They set their mouths against heaven,
and their tongues range over the earth.
10 Therefore the people turn and praise them,*
and find no fault in them.*
11 And they say, ‘How can God know?
Is there knowledge in the Most High?’
12 Such are the wicked;
always at ease, they increase in riches.
13 All in vain I have kept my heart clean
and washed my hands in innocence.
14 For all day long I have been plagued,
and am punished every morning.
15 If I had said, ‘I will talk on in this way’,
I would have been untrue to the circle of your children.
16 But when I thought how to understand this,
it seemed to me a wearisome task,
17 until I went into the sanctuary of God;
then I perceived their end.
18 Truly you set them in slippery places;
you make them fall to ruin.
19 How they are destroyed in a moment,
swept away utterly by terrors!
20 They are* like a dream when one awakes;
on awaking you despise their phantoms.
21 When my soul was embittered,
when I was pricked in heart,
22 I was stupid and ignorant;
I was like a brute beast towards you.
23 Nevertheless I am continually with you;
you hold my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterwards you will receive me with honour.*
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire other than you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength* of my heart and my portion for ever.
27 Indeed, those who are far from you will perish;
you put an end to those who are false to you.
28 But for me it is good to be near God;
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
to tell of all your works.

Amen and thank you for your teachings. Did you see the link to the clip from Passion that NEWwoman posted in the America Prayer Vigil last Friday depicting signs that officialdom had made a huge error in crucifying our Lord. There was adramatic scene when the veil was rent.

I only saw The Passion once in the theater. It was so heart-wrenching that I don’t think I could sit through it again.
I do remember the Veil being torn though.

Oak Island was very interesting 50 years ago when I visited there, so I watched the series avidly for a while.
It all looked so familiar, and when the old man Blankenship passed away, I felt as though I knew him. I think, but I am not sure, that he was the one who took me and my husband around to island back in 1973.
