Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Mark 14

Peter Disowns Jesus

66 While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came by. 67 When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked closely at him.

“You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus,” she said.

68 But he denied it. “I don’t know or understand what you’re talking about,” he said, and went out into the entryway.[g]

69 When the servant girl saw him there, she said again to those standing around, “This fellow is one of them.” 70 Again he denied it.

After a little while, those standing near said to Peter, “Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.”

71 He began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know this man you’re talking about.”

72 Immediately the rooster crowed the second time.[h] Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows twice[i] you will disown me three times.” And he broke down and wept.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent is Your Most Holy Name!
You Are So Holy,
and Worthy of Praise and Worship,
we are Overwhelmed by Your Glory!
It is You Who Made The Earth
and All it Contains,
from the tiniest of Creatures,
to the Greatest of the Mountains,
Forests and Deserts.
It is You Who Commands the Motion of the Stars,
The Galaxies,
and the Great Singularities of Time and Space,
And it is You Who Creates New Life
in the Secret Place of a Mother's Womb!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Hebron is a place that was famous, not only as the Tomb of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but also for beautiful glassware and pottery. In 1984, it was relatively safe for tourists and I was able to visit the Tomb and a glassware factory. I even got a chance to attempt making a vase out of glass. (I blew too hard and it shattered. Oh Well). An Arab youth was sitting at a potter's wheel making a pot.

"Salam Aleichem.," I said.

"Aleichem Salam," he replied. "You Speak Arabic?"

"Not a whole lot. I grew up in a neighborhood where there were lots of Arab People."

"Where?" he asked.

"Oh, I'm sure you've never heard of it. A little place called 'Roslindale'."

"Roslindale! In Massachusetts. I have an uncle there. I KNEW you were from Boston. Your accent gave you away. Say....are you married?"

I fled to the tour bus. There was no hiding that I was from Boston.

Seven years later, I arrived in Honolulu Airport for my very first trip to Hawaii, which had been won by attending a Timeshare Presentation. Hubby and I grabbed our suitcases at the Baggage Carousel, and I asked a baggage handler where we had to go to rent a car.

The man pointed at us and laughed.

"BOSTON!" he laughed out loud, GO RED SOX!!!!

Eleven years of vocal training never completely removed my accent, and sometimes it has caused me difficulties in life, career, and social situations. My B-I-L Donnie once said to me:

"Don't feel bad about it, ML. We talk like the Original Colonists that came from England in 1620. We're the only ones who get it right. It's EVERYBODY ELSE who has a accent!"

In First Century Jerusalem, especially during Passover, there were people in town from all over Europe and Asia for the Holiest of the Holidays. Everybody had an accent from somewhere, and this is reflected in Acts Chapter Two. Yet, there was something about the Galilean Accent that really set those people apart. The area around the Sea of Galilee was considered to be rural, unsophisticated, and, perhaps, even backward. There was an expression: "Can Anything Good Come Out of Nazareth?" (John 1:46), and is further strengthened by They (the Pharisees) replied, “Are you from Galilee, too? Look into it, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee.” (John 7:52)

Peter was unable to disguise who he was. And yet, he sat and warmed himself by the enemy's fire. Even a servant girl could see right through him.

When we try to put on a mask to seek approval from the enemies of God, we will always get found out and humiliated. Our "accent" will give us away.

Maybe that's a GOOD thing. If we got away with warming ourselves by the enemy's fire, we might do it again, and again.

Praise God for that "Accent" that makes us different.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 94

1 O Lord, you God of vengeance,
you God of vengeance, shine forth!
2 Rise up, O judge of the earth;
give to the proud what they deserve!
3 O Lord, how long shall the wicked,
how long shall the wicked exult?

4 They pour out their arrogant words;
all the evildoers boast.
5 They crush your people, O Lord,
and afflict your heritage.
6 They kill the widow and the stranger,
they murder the orphan,
7 and they say, ‘The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob does not perceive.’

8 Understand, O dullest of the people;
fools, when will you be wise?
9 He who planted the ear, does he not hear?
He who formed the eye, does he not see?
10 He who disciplines the nations,
he who teaches knowledge to humankind,
does he not chastise?
11 The Lord knows our thoughts,*
that they are but an empty breath.

12 Happy are those whom you discipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,
13 giving them respite from days of trouble,
until a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not forsake his people;
he will not abandon his heritage;
15 for justice will return to the righteous,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.

16 Who rises up for me against the wicked?
Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17 If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18 When I thought, ‘My foot is slipping’,
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul.
20 Can wicked rulers be allied with you,
those who contrive mischief by statute?
21 They band together against the life of the righteous,
and condemn the innocent to death.
22 But the Lord has become my stronghold,
and my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He will repay them for their iniquity
and wipe them out for their wickedness;
the Lord our God will wipe them out.

I have Jersey accent that follows me too haha. I once had a job as a receptionist and almost got fired because my voice was too offense they said. My boss asked me if I could try to sound “Nicer” on the phone. Just couldn’t seem to hit the high sweet note to sound nicer. Thank God they relocated me to a different position. They like me at least!! As always, thank you for all your shares, your prayers, and leading in Praise and Worship. Joining together as we pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, for our Families and friends, for our Nation.

My sister was denied a promotion because of her Boston Accent. (They actually put this in her review, if you can believe it!)

And...this was at a WORLD RENOWNED BOSTON HOSPITAL.

But...she had her vindication when many years later, when the mean boss who had done this to her was exposed as a Red Chinese “Asset”.
