Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Mark 14
Jesus Before the Sanhedrin
53 They took Jesus to the high priest, and all the chief priests, the elders and the teachers of the law came together. 54 Peter followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. There he sat with the guards and warmed himself at the fire.
55 The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death, but they did not find any. 56 Many testified falsely against him, but their statements did not agree.
57 Then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: 58 “We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with human hands and in three days will build another, not made with hands.’” 59 Yet even then their testimony did not agree.
60 Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?” 61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”
62 “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
63 The high priest tore his clothes. “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. 64 “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?”
They all condemned him as worthy of death. 65 Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, “Prophesy!” And the guards took him and beat him.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Abba, Father!
Blessed is Your Holy Name!
Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God,
King of The Universe,
Mighty and Glorious,
Eternal,
Immortal,
and Almighty.
You Alone Are Worthy of Our Most Humble Worship!
For You Alone Are The Most High!
Shout Unto the LORD with Gladness,
Serve Him With Joy,
For He is The One True God,
And The One Who Delivers Us from Our Enemies!
Oh LORD,
Some Trust in Chariots,
and Some in Horses,
But we depend on the name of Our God!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

I got involved in a conversation with a young man last evening. He's a very nice person, but, politically is a wee bit to the left of Ho Chi Minh. Thankfully, we were not discussing politics, but an image on his T-Shirt. The image was a creature from Jewish Folklore called a Golem..
ME: I see that you have a Golem on your shirt.
HIM: Yes. It's from the Bible.
ME: The Talmud, not the Bible.
Him: Yeah, yeah. The Talmud. That's what I meant to say.
ME: The Golem was the inspiration for "Frankenstein". Mary Shelly wrote it on a bet when she was seventeen years old.
HIM: she was married to Lord Byron.
ME: Uh, no. She was married to Percy Bysshe Shelly.
HIM: Yeah, yeah,that's what I meant to say. Percy Shelly. He wrote Tyger, Tyger.
ME: Uh, no. That was William Blake.
HIM: Yeah, yeah. William Blake. Of Course. That is what I meant to say.
The conversation continued and I began to share my Faith with him.
HIM: I USED to be a Christian, but I'm NOT ANYMORE.
There was a moment of silence, and then I gently asked:"DID YOU REALLY MEAN TO SAY THAT?"
The trial of Jesus was in Two Stages, Jewish and Roman. Both were fraught with lies, innuendo, false witness, distortions of facts, and misrepresentation. When Jesus spoke about "destroying the temple" for example, He was referring to His own Body, which was about to be destroyed. The "Rebuilding in Three Days" was, of course, a reference to the Resurrection. Jesus was speaking symbolically, just like William Blake was when he penned "Tyger, Tyger, burning bright". The tiger wasn't actually BURNING. It's symbolic. My Social Justice Warrior Friend was not deliberately lying, but he was sadly mistaken on all four counts. Whether it was the Golem, the Bible, Shelly, or Blake, he was wrong, even though he spoke with confidence and authority. There was no malice in our conversation, but he was just WRONG. The false witnesses at Jesus's Trials were not just being obtuse or ignorant. They were deliberately misinterpreting facts and responding with malice and high drama.
Some things never change.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Lord, thank You for calling us to love and to serve You.
Thank You for the out pouring of Your mercy and truth that overflowed from our sister in Christ ML, and onto the social justice warrior young man.
We ask for more opportunities to witness to those in rebellion.
We pray that as the time goes short, those who resist You will repent and surrender, lest they be destroyed.

Psalm 97
1 The Lord is king! Let the earth rejoice;
let the many coastlands be glad!
2 Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3 Fire goes before him,
and consumes his adversaries on every side.
4 His lightnings light up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.
5 The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.
6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness;
and all the peoples behold his glory.
7 All worshippers of images are put to shame,
those who make their boast in worthless idols;
all gods bow down before him.
8 Zion hears and is glad,
and the towns* of Judah rejoice,
because of your judgements, O God.
9 For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.
10 The Lord loves those who hate* evil;
he guards the lives of his faithful;
he rescues them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light dawns* for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name!

AMEN, thank you for sharing. Thank you for being willing to speak gently those words: “DID YOU REALLY MEAN TO SAY THAT?” May the Holy Spirit gently do His Precious Work in heart of this prodigal as we take a moment to pray for him. Remaining also in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our Nation and families.
