Not afraid to speak his mind and stand with Russia.
Archbishop Vigano, once Papal Nuncio to the United States and Secretary General of the Vatican government, has written a letter of congratulations and friendship upon the establishment of the International Movement of Russophiles. His comments, at once factual and conciliatory, may surprise some who would expect no support or faith in the Russian cause from the West.
This is the same Archbishop Vigano who has made multiple revelations in recent years regarding cover-up and scandals involving high ranking pedophile clergy, including revelations about the treatment and disposal of defrocked Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, going so far as to accuse Pope Francis of rehabilitating and covering for McCarrick even after he was informed of his heinous crimes, stating in a July 2020 interview that Pope Francis follows the “homosexual agenda of the New World Order.”
He has also spoken out about the dangers of COVID vaccines and the brutal lock-downs that accompanied the pandemic, and often speaks disparagingly of instruments of world dictatorship such as the World Economic Forum and the people behind it, specifically attacking the Great Reset ideology and Agenda 2030.
Thus it is clear that Vigano has a good understanding about the world situation and is even quite aware of the rot that festers within his own church. Nonetheless, he always speaks his mind on the matter and does not seem to be liable to pressure to be silent or get in line. Thus, it comes as no surprise that he would also break ranks in order to openly support reconciliation and friendship with Russia.
In his letter, Vigano acknowledges the role of Moscow as the 3rd Rome, and states, “The present crisis shows us the collapse of a corrupt West, in which there is no Pope.........

Russia has its own problems with alcohol and abortion.
We have all sorts of the same problems, just substitute drugs for alcohol and throw in preteen tranny madness:
Romans 3:10-18
10 As the Scriptures say,
“No one is good—no one in all the world is innocent.”
11 No one has ever really followed God’s paths or even truly wanted to.
12 Every one has turned away; all have gone wrong. No one anywhere has kept on doing what is right; not one.
Excuse me for not posting sooner, but I fell down laughing and needed help to get up.
Francis gleeful shakes the hands of pro-abort politicians from Italy, Ireland, and the U.S., stood by while Pelosi received communion right in front of him knowing she went to Rome to do this in defiance of her bishop and received the host in a stare of heresy, and himself participated in services with openly pro-abort, pro-gay marriage heretic Lutherans in defiance of multiple ecumenical councils in so doing; plus he commuted heresy over Pachamama and is a climate sellout, admitted communist.
Vigano has resisted Francis over all this, loves Christ, has championed the truth of the gospels and Tradition, and if he has staked out this position it means something.
*gleefully
I went to a Russian Catholic Byzantine-Rite church for years. The priest was an Austrian who had been a seminarian and was drafted into the German army as a stretcher bearer, was captured by the Russians, and spent seven or eight years in a Soviet prison camp.
When he came out he went to the Russicum in Rome, the institute for Russian Byzantine-rite priests and then had a beautiful little church in San Francisco, Our Lady of Fatima. He was a very holy man...and, weirdly enough, a Jesuit, but a “good Jesuit.” When they’re good, they’re heroically good - when they’re bad they’re...well, wait, it’s Lent, shouldn’t say it!
In any case, yes, Russia has always regarded itself as the 3rd Rome. And perhaps it will be.
I like Vigano, but the fact that Putin is in bed with the ChiComs undermines his position here. Putin is a geopolitical power-player, not any sort of Christian hero.
He would be another Darius of the Old Testament, one who while he may not be living the faith himself, is better than all Democrats in DC as he stands for life, traditional marriage, is against trans mutilation of children and lgbtq propaganda, financially supports and encourages growth of family size, supports churches being built, the Bible being printed, etc.
But I do get where you are coming from and in the end I don’t support the invasion of Ukraine but I do understand Obama and his state department laid tne groundwork for it ultimately occuring.
This seems a bit foolish from a man I respect
Putin has done good things. But so did Hitler. He pulled Germany out of a depression. And Mussolini made the trains run on time.
It’s the totality of the person that must be considered. All three of the above men started bloody wars. They are not worthy of praise. Their negatives far outweigh their positives. (And by the way, that description includes Bush II as well.)
So, yes. Bishop Vigano has jumped the shark. I hope he can see this, and make a course-correction. Because the Church needs him. But only if he talks sense and doesn’t wreck himself.
Why does he ignore Catholic Poland, which is even more against this than Russia is?
Here come the Zelenskybots to pollute the thread.
America- codified into law the practice of gay marriage, boys in girls bathrooms, men in woman’s sports, Transxyz’s in every .gov institution, and on and on. The US leadership couldn’t even tell you what a woman is!
Russia codified into law Abolition of every immoral, disgusting Western action, and they can tell you what a woman is…..America is rotting from the head down, the stench is getting unbearable.
Not hard to see who has a higher moral ground.
Read post #9 and #14.
I think you will see the good outweighs the bad... but I still don’t support the invasion of Ukraine.
Wow, what ignorance. The head of the “last bastion of civilization” repeatedly authors the personal assassination of his political opponents.
