Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Mark 6
Jesus Sends Out the Twelve
Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village. 7 Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.
8 These were his instructions: “Take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in your belts. 9 Wear sandals but not an extra shirt. 10 Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town. 11 And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, leave that place and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”
12 They went out and preached that people should repent. 13 They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty Father,
Everlasting God,
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy and Wonderful Name.
We Praise You,
and Bless Your Name Continuously,
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are Holy,
You Alone Are The One True God Of Abraham!
You Are The Creator,
Preserver,
and Destroyer of Worlds.
You are The Alpha and The Omega,
The Beginning and The End.
Thank You For Giving Us Your Word,
And Insight Into Your Eternal and Unspeakable Glory!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Some time before the Covid lockdown, a pretty girl named Jayden shyly stepped up to the microphone with her guitar. This was her first ever "Open Mike Night" and she was scared. She performed two Classic Rock songs and one Original. She was quite good and got an enthusiastic response. On the Classic Rock song, she had a chord wrong, so, after her performance, I discreetly shared the correct chord with her, in a nice way of course, and she thanked me.
The Emcee went on to become a "National Act" and was #2 on the Billboard Reggae charts for several weeks, right after Ziggy Marley. Then Covid hit, and Open Mike was shut down for nearly two years. When it finally started up again, we had a new host (our dear friend Scotty) and, slowly, musicians have been coming back. Last night was really crowded.
Scotty stepped up to the microphone and exlained that Jayden had played at this very Open Mike several years ago and had been terrified. But, now, she was "killing it!", and had become a local favorite. She also had her original music available online. And it all had started RIGHT HERE.
Another one of our regular performers is Patrick. When Patrick got up the first time, he had a "deer-in-the-headlights" look that indicated that he was absolutly terrified. Then he started playing the keyboard and singing "Your Song" by Elton John. And he was perfect, except for the look of terror which never left his face.
Patrick kept coming back, week after week, and we learned that he is autistic, and self-taught. The look of terror has left his face, and, last night he actually JAMMED with Scotty, switching vocals back and forth and harmonizing. And there was a huge smile on his face.
We also have a regular who is 84 years old and sings Standards from "The American Songbook". She has an elderly gent accompany her on Jazz guitar. And so, the mostly young and Rock-Oriented crowd get aquainted with Gershwin and Cole Porter. And they LOVE it.
The patrons of the Tavern are the absolute BEST audience. They applaud and cheer and encourage the artists, even if sometimes the musicians are a little "off". I started out as a solo there, but soon there were others who wanted to "Jam" with me, and I end up with a four-piece band on some nights. It's always much more fun having a musical partner to bounce ideas back and forth.
There are some "Open Mikes" in town that are less rewarding. The musicians are on a strict schedule, the host is not as welcoming, or the audiences are not as enthusiastic. There are some I actively avoid. After 45 years of making my living doing music, I don't need to be abused for free. (LOL).
Noah gathered the animals two-by-two to rescue them from the floor. Jesus sent out his apostles two-by-two to rescue Humans from the Wrath to Come. He may have done it this way because of the power of "The Testimony of Two Witnesses", as outlined in the Torah. Or, He may have chosen this way so that the fledgling apostles would had support and companionship on their first Missionary Journey.
He gave them an option that, if the village was unreceptive, just "shake the dust off their feet and move on". That's Good Advice, whether singing at an Open Mike, or bearing the Message of Eternal Life.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 126
A Song of Ascents.
1 When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,*
we were like those who dream.
2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with shouts of joy;
then it was said among the nations,
‘The Lord has done great things for them.’
3 The Lord has done great things for us,
and we rejoiced.
4 Restore our fortunes, O Lord,
like the watercourses in the Negeb.
5 May those who sow in tears
reap with shouts of joy.
6 Those who go out weeping,
bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
carrying their sheaves.

The Testimony of Two Witnesses
Never thought of this in the context of sending disciples out—other than the buddy system.
