It is debatable if the Bible actually says this. I may not be the best to debate it, but I know many fine men and scholars who do not believe that.
When Jesus comes to gather His Body of Believers in the Rapture event, that is not the second coming for He will gather us UP into the clouds to meet Him in the air. 1 John 3:2 says we shall be like Him when He gathers us up. The second coming He comes back to touch down at the Mount of Olives.

Nope, the PTR wasn’t taught before Irving and Darby, because it’s not scriptural, pure and simple.

Well, that was news to the likes of Irving and Darby, who all heard it FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. Samuel Prideaux Tregelles basically called it Satanic BS, as pointed out in post 11.
Edward Irving flipped out the FIRST TIME he read Jesuit Manuel De Lacunza’s book describing it. Irving transcribed the book from Spanish into English, and then TAUGHT it in his church. The PTR came from the Jesuits in the Catholic church, THE ANTICHRIST POWER. That is where your PTR theory came from, and nowhere else.

And as we are nearing the end, there are biblical scholars wo are being given insights not seen generally for nearly two thousand years. That the Dead Sea Scroll contain references to the Rapture before the Tribnulation is not refutable, only denied by culbois.
