Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Mark 1
Jesus Calls His First Disciples
16 As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 17 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 18 At once they left their nets and followed him.
19 When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. 20 Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Magnified,
Sanctified,
and Hallowed Be Your Most Holy and Glorious Name!
You Are So Holy and Worthy of Praise and Worship,
We are Overwhelmed by Your Glory!
It is You Who Have Made The Earth and All it Contains,
from the tiniest of Creatures,
to the Greatest of the Mountains,
Forests and Deserts.
It is You Who Command the Motion of the Stars,
The Galaxies,
and the Great Singularities of Time and Space,
And it is You Who Create New Life in the Secret Place of a Mother's Womb.
Oh, Father, You Are So Wonderful,
So Glorious,
So Magnificent,
And Mere Words Don't Even Tell The Story of Your Awesome Splendor.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

What a "Coincidence"! Just yesterday, I happened upon a YT Video of two Franciscan priests discussing this scene from The Chosen.
The two men agreed that the scene was totally speculative, and not based upon Scripture, but they loved it. What was so compelling to them was the reaction of Peter's Wife. Instead of freaking out over what was going to happen, she was excited about Peter's new ministry. It was a total surprise to nearly everybody watching the scene for the first time, including myself.
The natural reaction to such an announcement would have been "What about your job? What about your Family? What about ME?" Most of us would not fault Mrs. Peter for reacting that way. In fact, most of us would act that way ourselves.
Some of us may have gotten a similar response when we announced that we had decided to "Follow Jesus". It would have been lovely if all of our family members acted like The Chosen's "Mrs. Peter". Encouragement, Joy, Admiration, and Fulfillment are wonderful emotions, and since a New Believer is experiencing them, he expects his loved ones to share in his joy. Peter was expecting the opposite reaction, the one many of us have experienced. Those to whom we make our "announcement" could be experiencing feelings of Fear, Loss, Betrayal, or Abandonment. Some may view their family member's decision as a form of apostasy, which in some cultures would mean the Death Sentence. That's when a decision to Follow Jesus can be a matter of Life and Death. (Actually, it's ALWAYS a matter of Eternal life and death, no matter what people's reactions may be.)
The last camera shot in the scene shows New Wine coming out of a vat in which Mrs. Peter has just been stomping grapes. This reminds us that we can't just tack Jesus onto Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, or even Judaism. New Wine needs to be stored in New Wineskins. And, as Jesus said, "Behold, I Make All Things New."
As you know, I don't believe in "Coincidences". The YT video of that ONE scene from that ONE episode in that ONE Season of that ONE Series came up just before I set up today's Thread. Go Figure.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Psalm 24
Of David. A Psalm.
1 The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it,
the world, and those who live in it;
2 for he has founded it on the seas,
and established it on the rivers.
3 Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
4 Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,
who do not lift up their souls to what is false,
and do not swear deceitfully.
5 They will receive blessing from the Lord,
and vindication from the God of their salvation.
6 Such is the company of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.*
Selah
7 Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is the King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O gates!
and be lifted up, O ancient doors!
that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory.
