Gay Sex Not a Sin, Archbishop of York Says, if Blessed by the CoE
Anglican Ink ^ | 1/21/23 | George Conger

Editors note: During Friday’s, 20 January 2023, press conference in London presenting the House of Bishops recommendations on the Living in Love and Faith process, the Archbishop of York, the Most Rev. Stephen Cottrell was asked by a reporter: “Do you think that gay sex in the context of a loving, committed lifelong relationship is a sin?”

The Archbishop of York responded in part: ” … as I imagine this going forward if people who have entered into a same-sex civil marriage come to the church seeking one of these services of love and faith in the same way that actually with heterosexual couples, who come seeking Holy Matrimony and one notices, they have the same address for instance when they fill in the forms, I don’t ask them questions about it. I celebrate the fact that they are wanting to commit themselves in a stable, loving relationship. I believe the great gift of sexual and physical intimacy to be cherished belongs in stable, loving, committed relationships. And therefore, I will celebrate the fact that people are living that way and expressing their intimacy that way.”

The Archbishop of York needs to read the story of Sodom and Gomorrah again.

The Bible says otherwise, Mr. Archbishop. Many, many times...leaves nothing to interpretation.

And my in-laws can not understand why there is a major departure from the laws of God that were preached in Catholic education institution.

God made man and women distinctively different yet uniquely compatible and complementary, and only joined them together in marriage - as the Lord Jesus Himself specified (Mt. 19:4–6) - and Scripture only condemns homosexual relations wherever they are manifestly dealt with.

And homosexual relations have been tragically primarily responsible for approx. 80% of new HIV cases among men and over 700,000 American deaths, though such is not even the decisive reason why homosexual relations are wrong.

Yet there is still room at the cross for all who will come to God in repentance and faith, and trust in the Divine Son of God sent by the Father, the risen Lord Jesus, to save them on His account, by His sinless shed blood, and thus be baptized and live for Him. Acts 10:36-47

The rot begins at the top and trickles down. Hopefully the next Pope will actually be a Catholic.

Not Catholic, Church of England. They refer to the “Archbishop of ___” like they are the only legitimate Church, as does the Catholic Church.

Romans 1:18-32

What were they worshipping when they gave it the glory due the Lord?

What were they instead of being grateful for His blessings?

These are what leads to being turned over to a depraved mind and this (championing homosexuality in society) is some of the fruit associated with depravity.

Why I am now a LAPSED Episcopalian. But I didn’t leave the Church - it left me.

Something is going on among humanity, it is more than an organized political conspiracy, we can see political deliberateness in taking over education and the military and such, but this takeover of the churches, all of them, not just Catholic, means people living their lives within the church and its organization for life, adopting lifetime roles and a form of religious discipline, that indicates that something is going on with humanity, infecting humanity.

Humanity seems to be in one of those periods that we see in the bible when evil gains the upper hand and wins over people’s hearts as though it is an infection traveling through the air.

Not that I am defending the RC church, but this is the Church of England, aka Anglican, aka Episcopalian Church.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 NASBS
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, [4] and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

1 Corinthians 6:9

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,

Now. If a CHURCH is telling you a lie that will end with your eternal damnation, what is the reasonable response?

FIND A REAL CHURCH, BUT NOT BEFORE YOU CALL THEM OUT IN PUBLIC.

Good points.

I begin with the premise that existence is intrinsically evil — where evil represents anything that is materially or spiritually destructive to a child of God. And without God’s intervention, evil prevails

"my in-laws can not understand why there is a major departure from the laws of God that were preached in Catholic education institution."

The laws of God haven't changed. Man either forgot to ask why, forgot the answers or ignore them.

When you want to think of our political leaders as being not so bad, look for a while at our religious leaders .

America was the land they came to from England and elsewhere for freedom of worship. The Church of England was THE church and religion. There were those that did not agree and did not like a government mandate. They sailed across the ocean for freedoms.

There were Quakers.. Friends.. Worshipers. Branches came from that and here we are 2023, depravity and mindless Christ less leaders teaching what they think instead of the Word of God. It’s to let them do what THEY want instead of believing in God and following what works for humanity.

My personal belief:: we all have a master. We live as close to Christ likeness as we can, or we follow and live for the devil. To say you do neither, is fooling yourself.
