Jesus is a common name in the Mexican culture. The youngest (and, ultimately, least proficient) of the Alou brothers is Jesús (with Felipe and Matty). Dodgers' announcer Vin Scully, a Roman Catholic, clearly was uncomfortable calling him Jesus or "Heysoos", so he always dubbed him "Jay".

Jesus is a common name in most Spanish cultures - in reverence of the Real Jesus. I personally believe it’s blasphemous to name your child that, even though I am ethnically Spanish.
