The Vatican defrocks a priest who speaks for unborn children: It seems that Fr. Pavone's lack of polish negated his pro-Life efforts, even though it's a concept that the Catholic church still espouses

I have been watching the TV series The Chosen, and it’s a remarkable experience to see such a depiction of Jesus’ life through the eyes of the people who knew Him. One episode that is particularly close to my heart is entitled Jesus Loves The Little Children. The Master is teaching and playing with a group of children who discover His camp outside of town. Jonathan Roumie, the actor portraying Jesus, did a wonderful job with the children.

The episode reminded me strongly of one of my favorite stories in the Bible, Mark 10:13-16, where Jesus asks for the children:

People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’ And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Jesus loved children so much that I felt genuine anguish upon learning the Vatican has defrocked a priest for speaking up in defense of the unborn children of the world—the Vatican, the seat of the Pope, the successor to Peter, whom Jesus chose to feed His sheep, and the rock upon which the Catholic church was founded. Could there possibly be anything more antithetical to the mission of Jesus than punishing a man who defends unborn children?

Frank Pavone has been made into a layperson. He is the leader of an anti-abortion group, Priests for Life, and the Vatican issued a snarky statement that, because Priests for Life is not a Catholic organization, the group could decide for itself whether or not a layperson such as Frank Pavone could continue to participate in its work.

Father Pavone has legions of supporters, including consecrated bishops.

The blasphemy is that this holy priest is canceled while an evil president promotes the denial of truth & the murder of the unborn at every turn, Vatican officials promote immorality & denial of the deposit of faith & priests promote gender confusion devastating lives…evil https://t.co/ASzjW7IuAv

It’s difficult to unpack the politics of the Vatican because so much happens behind the curtains. But we can speculate that Pope Francis himself either approved the decision or stepped aside to allow it to happen. Priests don’t get defrocked every day, and a well-known priest like Frank Pavone must have transgressed beyond a few curses on Twitter to force the hand of the Holy Father and receive the ultimate priestly punishment.

It may very well have been that Pavone was too loud in his opposition to abortion. Francis is trying to keep the Catholic Church in America from tearing itself apart over abortion. In the U.S., as in some western countries, the church’s anti-abortion activism has led to a split between pro-life and pro-abortion camps that’s being fought from the top down. From the Conference of Catholic Bishops to the smallest parish, there are divisions that have roiled the church.

Pavone won’t be silenced, which begs the question of why Pope Francis and Pavone’s enemies wanted to defrock him in the first place. All they’ve done is raise his profile and turn him into a martyr.

It seems to me like they should be more worried about child molestation and gay clergy. The idea that Pavone is bad for their image/narrative is laughable.

I suppose they know they can trade abortion for LGBT. If they unload Abortion and embrace LGBT, they might be able to negotiate ending the “altar boy” problem.

The answer to the question “Is the Pope Catholic?” is now complicated.

We have a term called RINO for Republicans. Is there such a term as CINO?

“Francis is trying to keep the Catholic Church in America from tearing itself apart over abortion.” Hardly. Bergolio could care less about the Catholic Church especially in the US. It is common knowledge Francis dislikes Americans except James Martin.

Hey Fr. Pavone, just call your nearest Orthodox bishop and join the True Church of Christ, the Latins have lost their minds!

there are divisions that have roiled the church.

Rightly so ... and the pro-death crowd needs to either repent or get themselves hence.

The answer to the question "Is the Pope Catholic?" is only complicated for those who don't want to accept that Mr. Jorge Bergoglio is nothing more than a Communist politician and a heretic.

I gotta say, you lost me there. He's a Catholic priest. It's his job to speak up for innocents being slaughtered. Francis is sliding into the Unimaginable.

He is said to have been in a argument with a liberal horse’s ass on Twitter and called him (them) “you G D you baby killers ... “

He then later went to confession and has since deleted his Tweet.
