Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Matthew 18
The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven
18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

We Praise You With Every Fiber of Our Created Being.
We Thank You For Your Holy Word.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

Tales of Innocence:
1. My student, Finn, knows how much I hate snow. Wednesday he informed me that there was a "Snow Hurricane" coming that is covering the entire Atlantic Seaboard, from Florida to Maine. He said it would be here by this weekend. When I asked him where he had obtained this information, he replied "The Internet." I go onto the Internet too, but I hadn't seen this. Today is Saturday, and it's cold and gloomy, but no sign of a "Snow Hurricane" yet. I wonder where Finn had heard that? There might very well be a snowstorm this weekend, but probably not a "Snow Hurricane."
2. During a late evening walk with Tippy, a neighbor approached me with sadness in her eyes.
"Did you hear that Bruce Willis passed away? I really liked him as an actor. He seemed to be a good guy."
I commiserated with her a bit, agreed that Willis was one of the "good guys" and went home to check it out. Bruce is alive and well. My elderly neighbor had fallen for an Internet Hoax.
3. A dear friend from childhood railed against the Republican President whom she despised. I asked her where she had gleaned all these crazy accusations. She proudly cited Keith Oberman, Rachel Maddow, and Chris Wallace. When I asked her if perhaps she was only getting her news commentary from one source she proudly declared:
"Oh, no. Definitely not! I get all sides of the story! I watch all the local news affiliates, CNN, AND MSNBC!"
All three of these people (all of whom are very dear to me), had a form if innocence that caused them to believe everything they were told, even if the source was unreliable. As adults, we have had to learn that not all sources of information are credible. Even worse, we see that many have an agenda, and tailor their message to suit it. When this becomes institutionalized, it is called "Propaganda". Misinformation, disinformation, obfuscation, and outright mendacity become the norm. The more we see of it, the more jaded and cynical we become. Our suspicions are confirmed when the lies are exposed, as with the Twitter revelations since Musk took over that company. The Loss of Innocence is complete when we don't believe ANYTHING anymore.
When I reached the age of 27, I had hit this stage of loss of innocence. It was like hitting a wall. I didn't believe in Religion, Science, Government, Art, Academia, Society, Civilization, The Left, the Right, you name it. I was DONE with it all. It was after I had lost faith in everything, that Jesus finally revealed Himself to me. In order to believe in Him, I had to empty out all the other stuff that had cluttered my mind and become like a blank slate. In a sense, I had to become like a little child. I had to let go of everything that encumbered me from Faith.
As we can see from my three little stories, Faith only works when the Object of that Faith is reliable. The Internet, the Media, Academia, and the Government are all competing for your faith, but they don't deserve it. Only Jesus deserves your faith. It is a faith unencumbered by propaganda or manipulation. It is, indeed, the Faith of a Little Child.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Amen !!! <><
Psalm 2
1 Why do the nations conspire,
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and his anointed, saying,
3 ‘Let us burst their bonds asunder,
and cast their cords from us.’
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord has them in derision.
5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6 ‘I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill.’
7 I will tell of the decree of the Lord:
He said to me, ‘You are my son;
today I have begotten you.
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron,
and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.’
10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear,
with trembling 12kiss his feet,*
or he will be angry, and you will perish in the way;
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Happy are all who take refuge in him.

Yes, thank you. Thank you JESUS for revealing yourself to each of us. We pray for those who are caught in a cycle of confusion. When the SON sets you free, you are free indeed.
