To a large extent, in the West it is considered possible to rescind the Christian faith, marginalize it or move into a strictly private area. The Russians, however, having suffered heavily from forgetting Christ, feel it a must to firmly hold on to Him, lest they perish.
Over the years, both Western and Russian scholars in the field of history noted that Russia has always seemed to be a more Christian nation than her European neighbors. There are in fact objective historical reasons why this is the case.
The recent meeting of the Russian President V. Putin with historians and religious leaders in a prestigious and spacious conference hall next to the Red Square in Moscow was convened, in particular, to reintroduce this subject to the public view. But in general, this meeting, previously unheard of, was dedicated to the Day of Russian National Unity, a state holiday and the Church observance commemorating the liberation of Moscow from the Polish troops in the year 1612.
Greeting the participants, Mr. Putin said:
I congratulate you and all the citizens of our country, all the citizens of Russia on this holiday, which marks our common heartfelt devotion to Russia, love for it, the unity of the country's multinational people in the face of trials and historical challenges: this has always been one of the key elements in our existence.
You know very well that the origins of the holiday go back centuries, when our people rose to fight for liberty, cleared the land of civil strife, betrayal and humiliation, put an end to the Time of Troubles, restored the lawful authority and statehood. Such moments, when men of different ethnic origin and religion united for the salvation of the Fatherland, are the backbone of the entire Russian history.

“As a result the de-Christianization of the West is progressing rapidly. The remedy is the same as it was for Russia, the message of Fatima - a message of corporate and personal consecration, and prayer and reparation for souls. The remedies for persecution available within our cultural and political institutions are necessary, and should be utilized, but in the end they will be ineffective without recourse to the Blessed Mother, who by the Divine Will has been sent in our time to assist her Son’s people. “

Putin is right that there was no real Russia until Vladimir of Rus became a Christian in 988.
The problem now is that Russia is a formally Christian nation in many ways but without much true Christian example these days. The Russian Orthodox Church is largely just a support agency for the state.
And meanwhile, American and Western globohomos push “diversity”, “islam”, “atheism”, “faggotry”, “tranny story hour”, “mutilation of children”... etc.
“Religion is the last refuge of the scoundrel “
- Old wise saying.
bttt
That’s because Russia more fully embraced Christ’s core message; if your military can’t invade a sovereign neighbor and defeat them on the battlefield go after their civilians and civilian infrastructure.
It’s like they were the only ones who listened to the sermon on the mount.
RuZZians are behaving like good Christians in Ukraine?
“Russia has always seemed to be a more Christian nation than her European neighbors.”
Hm “always” if you overlook 70 years of atheistic communism.
If you claim to be Christian, you must not go to war against Israel. The Spirit of Antichrist is hatred of Jews and Christ will come back and rescue them. To be accepted into God's Family you have to be adopted into Jacob's family.(Israel) Read Genesis 48 and see how gentile children were adopted into Jacob's family so they could get an inheritance in the Promised Land. If you hate Israel, you hate your family. You must be adopted under the blessing of the cross to qualify for a place in God's Kingdom.
“The Russian Orthodox Church is largely just a support agency for the state.”
It has been throughout nearly its entire history.
There was a period of interruption and persecution within the Russian Orthodox church.
“Writer Alexander Solzhenitsyn (1918-2008) once said that if it were not for the church schism of the 17th century, the revolution of 1917 would not have happened.”
The eastern Slavs converted yo Christianity. One of their granddaughter civilizations is the “Russian” ie Muscowy civilisation, which is the offspring of a Kievan Rus minor daughter and the Mongol khaganate.
Moscow is more a descendent of the Mongols than of Christian Rus.
The other two granddaughters are Bialorus and Ukraine.
In the meantime, Russia is showing itself to be more Christian than the US.
How far we’ve fallen.
Russia isn’t Magog
Russia has paid a heavy price for forgetting their real King.
Stalin did his best to destroy Christian Russia but could not quite finish it off.
The globalists and multinational corporations are trying the same thing.
They will lose, too.
Russia is not Magog.
God’s people are all over the planet.
TRUE. Historically.
As you note, Russia is about as Christian as my dog. Maybe less. Read somewhere only 7% of Russians go to church (no, going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than my going into my garage makes me a car.) and the realities of a true Christian faith and walk are found in few.
Yes - God has His own in Russia - but think as many are outside the Orthodox as inside.....
Russia is using the ROC for its own political purposes - not for spiritual ones.
Rosh is Russia in Eze 38:3.
