Schick’s accusation of right-wing extremism towards faithful Catholics follows similar smears against the Berlin March for Life participants.
(LifeSiteNews) — German Archbishop Ludwig Schick has stated that rejecting other religions as a Catholic is a sign of “right-wing extremist tendencies” and that he sees these tendencies among “certain pro-life activists.”
Schick, who is the archbishop for the diocese of Bamberg, talked about the danger of “right-wing ideas” among members of the Church in an interview with domradio.de.
“Whoever is a Christian must stand up for freedom, for unity, for worldwide solidarity and worldwide charity, otherwise he does not deserve the name Christian,” Schick stated while condemning “right-wing ideas.”
“For example, I see right-wing extremist tendencies among certain pro-life activists,” Schick said. “When it comes to interreligious dialogue, there too are right-wing extremist tendencies that fundamentally reject other religions because they insist solely on their perceived Catholic position.”
Schick said that Catholics who hold to the teaching that the Catholic faith is the one true religion have “right-wing extremist tendencies,” which he clearly meant in a derogative way.
The German prelate appears to be at odds with Catholic teaching, as the Catholic Church has always held that it is the one true Church that Jesus Christ founded and that the Catholic faith is therefore the one true religion.
In his “Syllabus of Errors,” Bl. Pope Pius IX explicitly condemned the view that the Catholic Church could not proclaim itself to be the only true religion (cf. Syllabus of Errors 21).

There seems to be a general tendency to paint everyone who doesn’t bow down to the left wing agenda as “extremists”. I wonder what the devil the devil is up to.
"A" and "Not-A" cannot both be simultaneously true. If one believes in religious faith "A", one must therefore reject all other religious faiths to the extent that they contradict "A".
That's just logic, which I was required to learn as part of my Catholic education.

I love how tolerant the left is, particularly ones parading as Christian or Catholic.
Rejecting is not the same as a disagreement about theology.
If for instance a Christian has theological disagreement with, say, a Jew that doesn’t mean you reject the person.
It means you have a disagreement about theology, it’s not hatred of the person nor is it “right wing extremism”.
This bishop has taken “tolerance” to an extreme.

Your point about not rejecting "persons" is reasonable, but not relevant to the current discussion.
Wait! I thought the Church claimed to be the one true religion. We were taught that no other religion was equal. Is this guy in schism from the Church?

Well, this is easy. There is only one ticket that gets a person into heaven and it has the name of the organization created by the Lord. In other news, happy people with a morals are seen as “extremists” to unhappy and unethical people, just as generous people look stingy compared to extravagant people.
He needs to REPENT!
