Eloïse Bouton, a freelance journalist working for the mainstream press who later left Femen in 2014, was the star of the event planned by the group to demand the protection of abortion 'rights.'
(LifeSiteNews) — The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has awarded almost 10,000 euros ($9791 US) in damages and legal costs to a former “Femen” member, Eloïse Bouton, on the grounds that her right to “freedom of expression” was violated by the French courts that condemned her for her shocking “topless” intrusion into the Parisian church of La Madeleine shortly before 10 a.m. on December 20, 2013.
The European judges decided that the French government, the defendant in the case, must pay 2,000 euros in damages and a further 7,800 euros to cover Bouton’s legal expenses because she received too heavy a penal sentence for acts that were intended to express a political opinion.
At the time of Bouton’s “performance” in front of the main altar of La Madeleine, France had only just emerged from months of confrontation between proponents and opponents of same-sex “marriage,” which became law in May 2013. For more than a year, all over Europe, female members of the originally Ukrainian feminist organization “Femen” had intruded upon public events and symbolic Christian locations, bare-breasted and displaying offensive slogans painted on their bodies.
Eloïse Bouton, a freelance journalist working for the mainstream press who later left Femen in 2014, was the star of the event planned by the group to demand the protection of abortion “rights.” Accompanied by a dozen journalists, including a writer for the major news service Agence France Presse, she entered La Madeleine during a choir rehearsal, stripping to the waist and placing a light-blue veil on her head together with a “crown” of red flowers.

I find it hypocritical they won’t run through a mosque topless, nor would a judge dare rule in favor of them doing so.
In days of yore, women breast feeding children was very common and the female breast was not considered sexual, but shoulders were forbidden. Women in royal courts of Europe were known to prominently expose their breasts. In recent centuries, it became forbidden, and the Europeans spread this cultural hangup to other cultures around the world. In places like South America, its still OK for women to show their breasts in public, and no big deal.
Details of her “protest”:

in December 2013, she interrupted Christmas carols at Paris’ famous Madeleine church and protested the Catholic Church’s teachings against abortion by simulating an abortion of Jesus.
“Wearing a crown of thorns to mock Jesus Christ and a blue veil to deride the Virgin Mary, Bouton carried pieces of ox livers to symbolize an aborted baby as she stood in front of the church altar and pretended to perform an “abortion” before urinating on the ground in front of the congregants.”
...daily.
Probably not OK for a white male to be running around with his dong hanging out though.
If there were January 6-like demonstrations in European capitals or the European parliament, would the European Court be as lenient? “Political free expression,” right?
If a journalist in Sweden is punished by her government for writing about immigrant crime, or a Christian politician in Finland for reading the Bible regarding g homosexuality, or a German for saying that Islam is a hostile and conquering force and Muhammad a pedophile, or a Belgian for tweeting that transmen should stay out of women’s sports and restrooms, the Court will find in their favor, right?
And all the countries of the EU will adjust their laws accordingly....
The court that made this ruling should have to tolerate vulgar disruptions of its court room with absolutely no recourse.

What the HELL is your problem? I know you can’t seriously believe this was a case of an African woman who didn’t get that she was supposed to cover her breasts up, or a delusional woman who thought she was a medieval queen. This was a woman who did pornographic acts on an altar to desecrate the church. So why in God’s name would you try to excuse her????
>> Femen is a well known group of women known for topless protests. They did it to Putin. I don’t have a problem with that. <<
Then I have a HUGE problem with you. Their topless protests typically involve the most obscene forms of protests on altars, desecrating hosts, etc.
>> This was a woman who did pornographic acts on an altar to desecrate the church. So why in God’s name would you try to excuse her???? <<
No, you’re so fixated on defending these Satanic monsters, hell-bent on destroying Christianity that you ignored the headline, which quite plainly stated, “profaned Paris Church.”
What you really mean is that you thought you had an opening to play upon the ignorance of others to promote your sexual fixations even on FR.
And to be clear, if you know enough about them to know their struggles with Putin, you know that their schtick is to portray pornographic acts on altars.
