True and False Prophets

15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Dear Heavenly Father

WE Know that You Are The Upright One,

The God of Infinite Justice.

Holy and Righteous beyond Measure,

Glorious and Awesome beyond Imagination.

Emblazon in Our Minds and Hearts That You Are a The One True Judge,

And The One Who Will Bring About Righteousness.

We Humbly Ask For Justice to prevail.

We Ask That You bring all that has been hidden out into the daylight.

We Plead on behalf of the Widows, Unemployed, Orphans, and Homeless.

We Plead for our Military, who get prosecuted for doing their job.

We Pray For Upright, Transparent, Just Government Honestly Elected by the People, For the People, and Of the People.

We Pray for Honest and Upright Scales (Proverbs 11:1) in reporting the news, Counting the votes, acquitting the innocent, and punishing the guilty.




Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,

After a morning of doing errands, my sister, her husband, and I decided to go out to lunch. We were right near an exit ramp for the Interstate, so there were planty of restaurants to choose from.

First, we wnt to TKO's, but, as it was a sports bar, it didn't open till later in the afternoon. So we hopped in the car and moved on. Next we drove up to a nice Italian place that was located in a hotel right off the exit. A glance at the menu posted in the window showed crazy over-the-top prices so we got back into the car. (I must interject here that my B-I-L has Alzheimers Disease, and becomes confused and agitated when plans are changed.)

We drove onward. We decided to go to the "99 Pub", and headed that way. Suddenly, traffic ground to a halt, and Emergency Vehicles surrounded us with all their sirens blaring and lights flashing. The civilian cars scurried to the sides of the road to make way for the Emergency Vehicles. Fire Trucks, Police Cars, Ambulances, State Police, Helicopters, and Police Motorcycles, which were all converging on the Industrial Park where the "99 Pub" was located. Then, in the crush of First Responders, we saw the HAZMAT Teams.

As traffic was being diverted AWAY from our chosen destination, Sis and I started talking excitedly about what could possibly be going on. Was it a Terrorist Attack? A Hazardous Waste Spill into our local reservoir? An Explosion? Well, of course, my B-I-L picked up on our distress and was becoming more and more agitated. Sis went onto her smartphone to see if she could find out what was going on. There was NOTHING on the Internet. We finally found a restaurant (Joe's) and pulled into the parking lot because we were starving.

We walked into the restaurant, fully expecting panic and chaos about the Armageddon in the Industrial Park across from the Reservoir, just a chain-link fence away from the back parking lot of Joe's. There was nothing. We walked in, got seated, and had our meal. Nobody in the retaurant knew what was going on just 150 feet away. The TVs around the bar were all tuned to various sports, and were not interrupted by news of the "event".

When we came out after lunch, we saw that the HAZMAT teams had set up a base camp behind the restaurant and were diverting traffic into the exact wrong direction that we wanted to go. By this time my dear B-I-L was bouncing off the walls in the back seat. He was really upset. This was getting really AWFUL. What the heck was goin on????

Although I am not on FB, Sis went online later to find out what was going on. What she found out was truly atrocious. It was a car fire. While a car fire would normally be a routine thing for First Responders, this was a very special car fire, as it was an ELECTRIC car. Because of the explosive and toxic nature of the Lithium Batteries, a simple car fire could turn into a catastrophic environmental event.

Jesus tells us, in this little snippet from the Sermon on the Mount, to watch out for False Prophets. But we are innundated with information constantly, and everybody seems to be claiming authority over Science, Health, Religion, Politics, the Environment and the Earth itself. How can we tell which ones are false and which ones are true?

Jesus gives us guidance on that. He tells us to look at the FRUIT of the Theory, the Religion, the Political Party, or whatever, to determine the integrity of the Source. If the Fruit is bad, so is the Root. Apples come from an Apple Tree, and rashes come from Poison Ivy. And yet, both are a lovely red color in the Autumn.

It is what it is.
