Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Matthew 6
Prayer
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Lord and Heavenly Father,
Your Will Be Done.
King of Kings,
You Are Our Defense
And Your Word,
Like a Two-Edged Sword,
Plunges to the Heart of all Issues and Reveals All.
You Alone are the One True God Over All!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Psalm 56
To the leader: according to The Dove on Far-off Terebinths. Of David. A Miktam, when the Philistines seized him in Gath.
1 Be gracious to me, O God, for people trample on me;
all day long foes oppress me;
2 my enemies trample on me all day long,
for many fight against me.
O Most High, 3when I am afraid,
I put my trust in you.
4 In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I am not afraid;
what can flesh do to me?
5 All day long they seek to injure my cause;
all their thoughts are against me for evil.
6 They stir up strife, they lurk,
they watch my steps.
As they hoped to have my life,
7 so repay* them for their crime;
in wrath cast down the peoples, O God!
8 You have kept count of my tossings;
put my tears in your bottle.
Are they not in your record?
9 Then my enemies will retreat
on the day when I call.
This I know, that* God is for me.
10 In God, whose word I praise,
in the Lord, whose word I praise,
11 in God I trust; I am not afraid.
What can a mere mortal do to me?
12 My vows to you I must perform, O God;
I will render thank-offerings to you.
13 For you have delivered my soul from death,
and my feet from falling,
so that I may walk before God
in the light of life.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Give us today our daily bread.
About three weeks ago, my refrigerator started acting up. The compressor started becoming noisy, and the lights dimmed when the motor started up. That wasn't a good sign...but a new fridge would cost about a tousand dollars that I didn't have. Repairing it would mean a new compressor, which 35 years ago was over $600.00, so I couldn't even imagine how much it would be in Today's Dollars. Then I went to get some frozen bagels out of the freezer...and they weren't frozen anymore. My freezer was filled with bread, mostly multi-grain artisan bread which I love, and all of it was soggy and looked as if it had thawed and re-frozen several times over. Visions of scary organisms ran through my head, of entire medieval villages going mental on LSD from bread mold, and out it all went...all that beautiful artisan bread that I had hoarded. OK...I have plenty of credit, but no money, so that became a trip to "Le Homee' Deepoit" for a new fridge. I was feeling a little queezy and would have preferred to stay home, but duty called.
The Big-Box Store had a lot of fridges, but they were all massive, ice-making, water-cooling, double-door monstrosities suitable for a small restaurant. Finally, I found the ONE Up-and-Down stainless steel fridge (20 cu ft...still a Behemoth)for just under a thousand dollars I asked if there was a deferred-interest program that would at least save me the usurious 26% interest payments, but was told no. After negotiating for Delivery, Installation (plug it in) and hauling away the old one., it came to $1100.00. I sighed, and signed the paper. I needed a fridge. That was on a Sunday.
Monday I got the mail and there was a coupon from "Le Homee' Deepoit" for
"TWELVE MONTHS DEFERRED INTEREST on $1000.00 from NOW UNTIL OCTOBER 5th!!!!!"
I immediately rushed to the store to have it applied. I was still not feeling that good, but this was important.
At the store, I was refused assistance with the order and was told I had to call the credit card company. So I drove home, and called them. I escalated the call twice upwards to a manger, and NOBODY would give me any satisfation.
"CANCEL THE ORDER THEN!" I yelled. "I WOULD RATHER NOT EVEN HAVE A FRIDGE THAN DEAL WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!"
So then I was stuck with a broken fridge, and still not feeling that good. I saw an ad on my sister's TV about a local, family-owned appliance store. I gave them a call, ordered the same fridge, with delivery, haul-away, and a service contract and it came to $1300.00. I put it on a regular credit card but with a lower interest rate than the Big-Box Store. It was delivered on the same day that it would have been if I had not cancelled the other order. The beautiful new fridge stood there empty, because I was too sick to go shopping. That was a week ago.
Turns out I had a very nasty cold that showed an inconclusive covid test. I self-quarantined because I didn't want anybody else to get this...whatever it was. And so for over a week, I ate canned soup that I had been saving for the Zombie Apocalypse. I realized that canned soup is not good "Bug-Out-Food" because the darn cans are so heavy. So I made it a week of Chicken Soup from cans and had a lot of recycling for collection.
Now, we need to Rewind a bit to 2017. Back then I got stuck with a huge dental bill for an incompetently installed crown on one of my molars. I fought it bravely, but was thwarted at every turn. (I even went to the State Dental Board). I have since had the damage repaired, but could not get a competent dentist to testify against the stupid dentist who ruined my tooth. So I just forgot about it. The day after the new fridge was delivered, I walked down to the mailbox and got a letter from the credit card company that I use for Dental and Vet bills. They had re-opened my case (probably because they are other complaints?) and were sending me a check for $1300.00. I haven't received it yet, but as soon as it comes in, I will pay for the fridge, which is now filled with Fresh Produce and some nice artisan bread.
I am not so much a "hoarder" and probably not even a good "Prepper", because I don't have much space to keep stuff. However, I don't like to get caught with nothing. I have to remember that the Lord will provide, even when it looks pretty grim. In fact, the LORD does amazing things to keep reminding me of that fact. The Prayer is "Give us this day, our daily bread." The Greek word for "daily" is unique in the Greek New Testament, and is only used this once, not only in the Gospels, but in all of Classical Greek Literature. That is pretty remarkable. God is saying that HIS Provision is Unique, Ongoing, and can be compared to no other type of provision, storage, prepping, or hoarding.
I can certinly testify to that!

Amen. What you DID hoard successfully was the Word of God...Your daily bread. Okay, so “hoard” is an inappropriate word because your “storing” it didnt prevent others from receiving, but it fits in your testimony and I am taking liberties.

Those moments of providence are treasures for us. Heavenly gifts only from Our Father who art in Heaven and Hallowed His Name with love and thanksgiving. Praying for the Peace of Jerusalem, for our dear families, for those waiting upon the LORD who are in much need, for our persecuted brothers and sister through the world.
