Obviously God is not both male and female. The thought is silly.

When Christ was in human form on the earth He was a man. After His death He came back, as a man. Just before leaving for the last time when a crowd was there to watch him ascend up into heaven there were two Angeles who asked why the people marveled, didn’t they know that Christ would come again in the same manner as He left.

Christ taught us to pray not to our mother in heaven but to “Our Father who art in heaven”.

God is a changeless being. Just because our ideas on earth about our relationship between man and woman change does not mean that God Changes.

We forget that God is a father, literally the Father of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Mary was impregnated and warned that she would be but not to worry because “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and God’s power will rest on you”. God’s Spirit made her pregnant. It was a male that got her pregnant.

"Christ taught us to pray not to our mother in heaven but to “Our Father who art in heaven”."

Indeed. "And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father." (Galatians 4:6) Yet with Catholic devotion being what it often is, it seems many would rather read, "God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Mama, Mother." (Galatians 4:6)
