Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Exodus 13

Crossing the Sea

17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.[a] The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.

19 Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the Israelites swear an oath. He had said, “God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place.”[b]

20 After leaving Sukkoth they camped at Etham on the edge of the desert. 21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. 22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Heavenly Father,

Blessed Are You, Oh LORD,

Our God, King of The Universe!

You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise.

You Alone Are Holy,

You Alone Are The Almighty,

You Alone Are the One True God!

Ancient of Days,

Rock of All Ages,

El Shaddai,

All Sufficient,

Our Great Provider and Sovereign Lord,

How Excellent is Your Holy Name Over All the Earth!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Years ago, in the 1960's, grocery stores gave out Green Stamps. The idea was to save enough stamps to be able to redeem merchandise at a warehouse store nearby. A catalogue was handy, displaying the products with the amount of Green Stamps necessary to redeem them. We had a couple of small kitchen appliances, yard tools, and furniture that were the result of saving the stamps. Since we were a family of eight that bought a lot of groceries, the Green Stamps piled up.

Then, somebody discovered that one does not have to entice people to buy groceries. The necessities of life, like food and shelter, will be bought by people at any cost. No need for Green Stamps, or Dishware, or Cutlery giveaways to make people buy FOOD!

When Mom passed away in November of 2015, I was pretty much in charge of cleaning out her house to place it up for sale. Along with Tax Returns from the past 60 YEARS, Cancelled Checks going at least that far back, and every notice from Social Secrity and Medicare (KEEP THIS STATEMENT FOR YOUR RECORDS), there was a box way back in the closet that looked very promising. What did it contain? Perhaps it was some family heirloom, or some historic documents, or maybe some WW2 Memorabilia. It looked THAT old.

Carefully, like an Archaeologist, I peeled off the decayed tape that sealed the box. Inside were books and books of Green Stamps. What very special thing had Mom been saving them for? There were enough Green Stamps in the box to buy a house!

Into the Thirty-Yard Dumpster they went. The stamps had long since expired, and the Green Stamp program had been defunct for almost 50 years. There was nothing to redeem.

We all make promises, and, most of the time we try to the best of our abilty. Sometimes the circumstances are such that we, in our frail humanity, just can't keep a promise that was sincerely made. Other times, so much time goes by between the promise and its fulfillment, that the Promise is no longer relevant, and everybody forgets about it.

Although the Patriarch Joseph had saved Egypt, he never forgot where he came from.

He may have looked Egyptian, dressed Egyptian, married an Egyptian, and spoke the Egyptian language, but he never adopted the Egyptian religion. When his father Jacob made Joseph promise to bury him in the ancestral Cave of Machpelia, Joseph agreed, and kept his promise to his father. As Joseph approched his own death, he extracted the same promise from his own family, which were the People of Israel.

There are different theories as to how this was accomplished. Some say that Joseph, mummified and buried with full honors in the Egyptian fashion, was stolen from his Egyptian Tomb and hidden away for 400 years. This links with the Imhotep theory, because, although Imhotep's Tomb has been found intact, his mummy is nowhere to be found.

Another Theory is that Joseph was buried in a Tomb in Goshen, among his own People. This theory is visualized in the TV remake of "The Ten Commandments", which showed Joseph's Goshen Tomb as a meeting place for the Elders of Israel. Either way, the People of Israel kept their promise to Joseph, and brought his bones back to the Promised Land.

Unlike Green Stamps, which expired, and whose promise of Redemption became wothless as soon as the Program ended, the promise of Joseph was kept and fulfilled over 400 years later.

God gave us a Promise to us, recorded in the Gospel of John:

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.(John 3:16 KJV)

THAT Promise is Eternal and has no expiration date.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 11

To the leader. Of David.

1 In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to me,
‘Flee like a bird to the mountains;*
2 for look, the wicked bend the bow,
they have fitted their arrow to the string,
to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?’

4 The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord’s throne is in heaven.
His eyes behold, his gaze examines humankind.
5 The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked,
and his soul hates the lover of violence.
6 On the wicked he will rain coals of fire and sulphur;
a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the Lord is righteous;
he loves righteous deeds;
the upright shall behold his face.

You know, these days, with technology, we see strange things and can find an explanation for them, generally.

However, in those days, being led by a pillar of fire and smoke for so many years, and all the other demonstrations of God’s power they observed, and yet they still rebelled against Him.

It is simply staggering the rebelliousness that exists in mankind’s heart.

Did they, or do we, ever stop to think of who they/we are messing with?????

I remember Green Stamps and we collected them and to some stuff.

And I remember that scene in The Ten Commandments of moving the bones of Joseph while singing.

Joining in prayer, left that other site, for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.
