Acts 1:8 does not specify only men can spread the gospel; it does not exclude women.

True, but I don't believe that was the issue. The issue was whether women can or should be pastors. Spreading the Gospel is encouraged of all believers.

Warren had Bill and Al Gore at his church right before the election and gave them political cover over the bimbo eruptions.

So then where does it say that women can’t be pastors? Ever hear of Dorcas?

Big trouble. Just like the family when the father leaves, the church becomes unstable and ungovernable.

Pastors are the same as elders or shepherds.
In every example we have, there was a “plurality” of elders in each church, never just one pastor - e.g., Ac 20:17; 21:17-18.
Just as we do not see women pastors in the New Testament, we also do not see the Lord‘s church being under the leadership of one pastor.

What do you think the music director is?
——————————————————————
Since the Bible is silent regarding the office of a music director, I’ll leave it to men and their man-made doctrines to decide what that is.

“Just as we do not see women pastors in the New Testament, we also do not see the Lord‘s church being under the leadership of one pastor.”
many churches consider Pastor to be a position held by one of the elders. While a church is governed by its ruling elders there is also the office of teaching elder which focuses on preaching/teaching the word and administering the sacraments. This is the Pastor. Day to day administration of church affairs is often left to the Pastor, with the help and support of the other elders.

Actually, King David did appoint musical directors. While the NT is silent about this it does say that music is to be part of the communal worship service. It just makes sense to put someone in charge of this whom God has given the spiritual gifts of music.

As much as I wish what you say weren’t true, it is true.
Seems based on an innate need to get along or please or something.

See this is the mistake many denominations make. They confused the office of a pastor/elder with that of the evangelist or minister.
While a pastor may be an elder, he must serve and minister with other elders. A typical denomination with just one pastor serving/preaching does not follow the New Testament example.

In a true New Testament church a musical director would have very little to do since all singing in worship is a cappella.

I think it comes from the fact that men are not as emotional and are more inclined to hold fast to sound doctrine. Women are more likely to look at doctrine from an emotional view and to think that holding fast to sound doctrine is just not fair or is just too restrictive.
God knew what He was doing when he set down the rules for leadership.
There is a reason why God is referred to as He.
It is the divine order.

I wonder what the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY thinks about this silliness?

I know of no NT example to the contrary.

Read the Bible. You will not find any New Testament church being served by a single pastor.
The Bible clearly models a plurality of elders in each local church. Though it never suggests a specific number of elders for a particular congregation, the New Testament refers to ‘elders’ in the plural in local churches (e.g., Acts 14:23; 16:4; 20:17; 21:18; Titus 1:5; James 5:14).

I suspect there was a reason the serpent chose the woman to deceive and not the man.
