More than half of all Americans say religious tolerance for Christians is on the decline, even as more than a third also believes Christians complain too much about how they are treated in society, a newly released Lifeway Research survey suggests.
In a study of just over 1,000 Americans conducted last September, 54% said religious liberty in the United States is in decline, including around a quarter (24%) who strongly agree with that statement.
Almost a third (32%) of respondents disagreed, while 14% said they weren't sure.
An even greater percentage of Americans believe religious tolerance for Christians in America is in decline, with 59% agreeing that "Christians increasingly are confronted by intolerance in America today."
Less than a quarter (24%) disagreed, and another 18% said they were unsure if intolerance for Christians is increasing in America. African Americans (68%) and white Americans (59%) were more likely to agree than people of other ethnicities (47%).
Protestants (69%) and Catholics (59%) were most likely to agree that Christians are facing increasing intolerance. Fifty-three percent of respondents of other religions and 41% of religiously unaffiliated respondents said the same.
Those who attend a worship service at least four times a month (64%) are more likely to believe religious liberty is on the decline in America than those who attend less than once a month (53%).

One third of the population is not only non-Christian but volubly anti-Christian? I do not believe it.
Sorry, but what does complaining “too much about how they are treated in society” have to do with freedom from government coercion and overreach?
Individuals can reject Christianity till the cows come home. Has nothing to do with constitutionally protected freedom from government interference of speech and religious exercise.
Unconstitutional acts of GOVERNMENT are the greatest threat to freedoms of speech and religious exercise.
So Christians should just shut up about their churches being constantly vandalized and burned down? Interesting viewpoint.
What were the first institutions that wwere closed down using cops and law enforcement at the start of the COVID shutdown while abortion clinics, marijuana shops and big box stores were allowed to stay open?
Tells you who is doing the burning and vandalizing...
Many Christians only go to church and then volunteer for charity. Many don’t read the Bible daily or attend a Bible Study. I think very few attend charismatic events and experience hands on healings. Although, I have seen a dramatic increase in Flashpoint Live, Mario Marillo revivals, America First, etc. events. Charlie Kirk and wife have events in the thousands. I also think the Lutheran Church has a teen gathering in the tens of thousands annually. SO, maybe we just will get a Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit revival of souls explode on our land.
This is yet another example of why the 2nd amendment is an individual right. Read and heed my tagline.
To me, the big problem when religion declines is the need for people to fill the empty feeling that results. So, at least in Western Europe, where Christianity is all but dead there, what the people have done is worship their new gods, who call themselves ‘climate scientists’ as the replacement. And, also, to a large extent, ‘diversity’, which they know only brings bad results, but they need something...anything, to fill that empty feeling.
If you ask me, I think nonbelievers complain too much!!!!

Now, as Polycarp was entering into the stadium, there came to him a voice from heaven, saying, Be strong, and show yourself a man, O Polycarp! No one saw who it was that spoke to him; but those of our brethren who were present heard the voice. And as he was brought forward, the tumult became great when they heard that Polycarp was taken. And when he came near, the proconsul asked him whether he was Polycarp. On his confessing that he was, [the proconsul] sought to persuade him to deny [Christ], saying, Have respect to your old age, and other similar things, according to their custom, [such as], Swear by the fortune of Cæsar; repent, and say, Away with the Atheists. But Polycarp, gazing with a stern countenance on all the multitude of the wicked heathen then in the stadium, and waving his hand towards them, while with groans he looked up to heaven, said, Away with the Atheists. Then, the proconsul urging him, and saying, Swear, and I will set you at liberty, reproach Christ; Polycarp declared, Eighty and six years have I served Him, and He never did me any injury: how then can I blaspheme my King and my Saviour?

Anti-capitalism and anti-religion go hand in hand!
Let’s see what happens when a devout Christian applies for work at CCN, or Google, or any newspaper. I remember when a Christian was fired from the company that makes Firefox.
They see Christian hatred and bigotry as “justified hatred and opposition “. These people claim to care and support the oppressed in support of celebrating diversity. Yet they despise Christians, the most persecuted group in all of history.
Why is this happening? Jesus explains it clearly and as we follow Christ their “Christian derangement syndrome” will get far worse and the world gets more evil.
I don't believe it is a third either. But the anti-Christian sentiment I hear in conversation with people is also not rare.
Getting controversial here a bit, the behavior of some people that call themselves Christian is part of any negativity Christians receive. I will be polite around them but I sure don't want to be close to those people and they sure are not doing as Jesus would do.
Many I have run into, not all, are terrible people for 6 days out of the week, consider all forgiven one day and then back to being horrible people the next 6 days. I don't go near that.
