In a recent [May 2022] episode of “Tucker Carlson Today,” Fox News host Tucker Carlson interviewed Father Vincent Lampert, a designated exorcist of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, about the Catholic Church’s ministry to people suffering from demonic possession.
In the wide-ranging interview, Fr. Lampert, an exorcist of more than 15 years, explained how people open their lives to the demonic, the different levels and intensities of possession, the Church’s rite of exorcism, and the power of God over evil spirits. (video 1 hr)
All Thanks go to God, not me.
I don’t know if it was my parents or grandparents who gave it, but one year my brother and I received a Ouija board for Christmas. We were thereby invited to play with eternal fire and gave it a try. To this day I am convinced it is because we were baptized believers that it had no effect, which is to say, the grace of God in Christ Jesus has prevailed. The comments regarding how thoughts and imagination are venues for temptation ring true. We may have control over thoughts after they enter the mind, but how much control do we have over their initial occurence? Not as much as we think.
Chad Ripperger’s presentations are very good.
One can find them on YouTube.
But a significant number of other people have told me they had frightening experiences with them and it sometimes opened the door to bizarre and obviously demonic activity happening around them. The danger is not the board itself, but being a means for someone to open themselves up to unknown spiritual forces.
It is the intent while using the board that usually creates the problem.
My daughter had a friend whose teenage sister brought a Ouija board home. Pretty soon this friend was seeing strange people in the hallway of her home. Our daughter told us about this one day at dinner and I looked up the issue. Our daughter spoke to her friend about the risks of the occult and her friend decided to throw away the Ouija board and go to confession. No more strangers in the hallway. This was in California in the 20 teens.
Not an untypical report of what kinds of things start happening when one starts dabbling in the occult. Good thing you could help her nip it in the bud.
Thanks. An important lesson for naive girls.
Not an issue and thank you for taking the time to reply.
