LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - On the last day of Pride Month, a Lexington church is apologizing to the LGBTQ+ community.
Leaders at St. Paul Catholic Church said they want to make amends for the church’s discrimination and lack of compassion.
“I felt betrayed by an institution. A divine institution, and I was heartbroken,” said JR Zerkowski, director of the Catholic LGBTQ+ Ministry.
Multiple religious leaders made remarks Thursday evening about their mistreatment within Catholic congregations and the long road they took just to be accepted.
“It took me 20 years for my mom to accept me,” said Rev. Marsha Moors-Charles, a founding pastor at the Bluegrass United Church of Christ.
But those same pastors sought a way to break the chains of oppression through the word of God.
So St. Paul Catholic Church held a service, one that Rev. Richard Watson called “unprecedented within the region,” to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community and to atone for the church’s transgressions.
Even as they spoke, others just across the street spoke out against them. But they have a message to even those who denounce them.
Barf Alert Ping
Disturbing.
The bass turds have come a long ways from just defending their priests who molested little alter boys to falling in love with them.
God doesn’t apologize on judgment day. HE told us what was right and what was wrong.
Another fag church comes out of the closet to beg forgiveness from the wicked 🤪
I wouldn’t walk into a Church if it had a rainbow flag.
Grovel before perverts. Satan smiles.
So, these heretics are apologizing for who? The Lord God? Who states in the Old Testament that homosexuality and Lesbianism are an ABOMINATION in His eyes?
I have had supposed Christians tell me that the Old Testament is negated by the New Testament. They then quote the stoning of the prostitute where the Lord Jesus says let he who is without sin cast the first stone to basically abrogate all sin and sinners.
When I point out the Lord Jesus stated that he has not come to abrogate the Old Testament but in fulfillment of it. They usually call me a bigot and a racist immediately afterwards.
It is supposed to be love the sinner, hate the sin.
This is love the sinner and love the sin.
So many Catholics have just become blinded by propaganda.
He also said, after forgiving sin, “Go forth and sin no more.”
Time to have a Mass in reparation for the sin of sodomy.
St. Paul Catholic Church? Let’s see, does St. Paul himself have anything to say about this sort of behavior?
Let’s go in order, first book by St. Paul is Romans, let’s start there.
Chapter 1: “For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error.”
That didn’t take long. More on this in the next book, First Corinthians.
Wow, thanks for that quote.
I grew up Catholic. The church has done its best to leave me for a very long time. The final blow was learning that a building on the Gonzaga campus housed defrocked gay priests. I was attending Alanon meetings on that campus in a nearby building. I got the shivers every time I passed the defrocked building, finally learned why.
Period, the end.
Tonight our pastor asked for God to bless our country in an ever-increasing anti-Christ world. We so needs God’s blessing, and it’s up to us faithful Catholics to defend our Church and our beliefs from the onslaught.
Oh, as a sideline, this was the first time we’ve seen a marked police car near the entrance (the officer was inside). We were out of town last week, so I guess he could’ve been there then. I don’t know, but I guess there’s been word from the diocese to watch out for those who want to do us harm. We have a very traditional priest, and we are a town of about 10,000. It’s a small parish.
such as it is......every last remnant of my youth being destroyed....
What once used to be a sin in the catholic churcb is now something to be proud of and celebrate.
We have been annihilated in this culture war.
