Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Genesis 25
Jacob and Esau
19 This is the account of the family line of Abraham’s son Isaac.
Abraham became the father of Isaac, 20 and Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan Aram[c] and sister of Laban the Aramean.
21 Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. 22 The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord.
23 The Lord said to her,
“Two nations are in your womb,
and two peoples from within you will be separated;
one people will be stronger than the other,
and the older will serve the younger.”
24 When the time came for her to give birth, there were twin boys in her womb. 25 The first to come out was red, and his whole body was like a hairy garment; so they named him Esau.[d] 26 After this, his brother came out, with his hand grasping Esau’s heel; so he was named Jacob.[e] Isaac was sixty years old when Rebekah gave birth to them.
27 The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was content to stay at home among the tents. 28 Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29 Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished. 30 He said to Jacob, “Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!” (That is why he was also called Edom.[f])
31 Jacob replied, “First sell me your birthright.”
32 “Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?” 33 But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.

Oh Father,
For You,
and You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are Holy,
You Alone Are The One True God Of Abraham!
Abba Father, We Are in Awe of Your Magnificence!
We Thank You For Your Glorious Living Word,
Which is Not Only a Guide For Living,
But the Very Foundation of our Laws and Our Liberties.
We Thank You For Your Magnificent Word,
Which We Beg You to Engrave Deeply
Upon The Tablets of Our Hearts.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

"I hadda banga yooie in southie on the way to the packie cuzai couldnt finda pahking space. It was wickit annoyin."
The preceding sentence is in English, but contains several idioms unique to the City of Boston, MA. Here is the same sentence in Standard English:
"In South Boston, there were no available parking spaces at the Adult Beverage Store, and I had to make a U-Turn in the middle of the street in order to find one. It was very annoying."
After eleven years of vocal training, twenty years of teaching Voice, and sixteen years of living in the South, I still have a Boston Accent. Once, in Hawaii, as soon as I opened my mouth I was asked about the Red Sox. In Bethlehem Israel, an Arab boy asked me to marry him and "Take him back to Boston with me". (sigh). I should not be distressed by it though. It is theorized that The Boston Accent is reminiscent of the original English Settlers, and many of our Founding Fathers were among them. And so, I should look upon my accent as a kind of Birthright of Freedom.
One of the most common Boston Idioms is an announcement when Dad comes home after a hard day's work:
"Whut's for Dinnah? I'm STAAAHHVIN!"
Now we know Dad isn't really on the verge of starvation. Mom isn't insulted, or concerned that Dad is suffering from malnutrition, nor will she hurry up and provide First Aid for the Starving Man at her doorstep. That's just the way we talk around here. It is what we say if the Pizza Delivery is late, or when we sit down to eat at a restaurant.
Jacob and Esau were Twins, but they could not have been more different. Esau, being the elder by a few minutes, was considered the First-Born, and thus, the owner of the Birthright. Jacob, on the other hand, knew somehow that he had to get that birthright from his brother.
It is highly unlikely that Esau was literally "Starving" after his unsuccessful hunting trip. There obviously was food in the camp, and he could have gone straight to the tents and made his own lentil stew. But, there was no such thing as canned soup back then, and lentils take at least two hours to cook. Esau could smell the soup in Jacob's pot, and he wanted the soup NOW.
Jacob must have also known that Esau wasn't "Starving". Otherwise, I don't think that he would have bargained at all, but would have gently spoonfed his "starving" brother to save him from the brink of death.
And so, both brothers were acting like, what we call in Boston, "WICKIT JERKS".
And yet, God even used this behavior to transfer the Birthright to Jacob, in order to continue the line that would eventually lead to the Messiah. Esau did not have the personality to go through what Jacob was going to experience in the near future, and the transfer of birthright had to happen to fulfill the Prophecy that Rebecca received when the two babies were struggling in her womb.
Omniscience is a quality of God that we can't grasp in this life. He knows everything from the Beginning to the End, because He IS the Beginning and the End.
And THAT is Wickit AWESOME.

Psalm 61
To the leader: with stringed instruments. Of David.
1 Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth I call to you,
when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
that is higher than I;
3 for you are my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.
4 Let me abide in your tent for ever,
find refuge under the shelter of your wings.
Selah
5 For you, O God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 Prolong the life of the king;
may his years endure to all generations!
7 May he be enthroned for ever before God;
appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!
8 So I will always sing praises to your name,
as I pay my vows day after day.
