He’s wrong. It’s entirely possible to be a bad Christian — a sinner. Almost all of us are just that.

Oh, yeah: 1 John 1:8. You’re welcome.

I agree with the pastor, its impossible to be an unrepentant sinner and still be a Christian.

I would not argue with your statement. I would say that many people call themselves Christians but do not act at all like Christians. I dont mean by being sinners. I mean be turning away from God and His Word. Advocation of abortion seems to me to be shunning God, which is an evil a level above succumbing to temptations of the flesh (booze, lust, or other selfish behaviors that fall short of Gods desire for us). Just my opinion.

A church does not have to be “non partisan” in order to have tax exempt status. It is tax exempt b
because it is non profit.

he’s not wrong. you can’t support death of the innocent or homosexual marriage (or a number of other things that GOD commands, and call yourself a Christian. This guy has the right to tell them they are apostates

Jesus welcomes the repentant...sinner....not the proud...sinner.

The latter die, over and over and over and over...

You cannot worthily receive Holy Communion with grave sin unforgiven on your soul, otherwise you receive instead greater damnation upon your soukd in receiving Christ unworthily. Priest is not helping Pelosi get to heaven, she is sending herself to damnation worse than the minute before....priest is assisting.

Almost all of us are just that.

And we FReepers are blessed to have the minority right here in our midst!

FTA Essentially, the preacher says “Democrats cannot be Christian.”
You responded with, “It’s entirely possible to be a bad Christian...”
- - - - -
Maybe, the preacher has a point, though.
I think his point is that willfully voting for anyone who proclaims that killing babies who are in God’s image is in grave danger of Judgment.

2 John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is PARTAKER OF HIS EVIL DEEDS.

Then, Hebrews 10:25ff says there is no forgiveness for willful sin.

Who is a “good” Christian? “If we walk in the Light as He is in the Light...” That person’s continual mindset is to grow into the image of Christ. The list of this person’s willful sins grows smaller as days go by. Failure to walk in the light sharpens the mind of this person to do even better next time. If so, this person is considered to be sinless by the Lord, 1 John 1:7

Who is a “bad” Christian? Hmmm. This is just a guess, but I imagine willful sin has a lot to do with it. With the idea of the mindset of a “good” Christian in mind, the “bad” Christian takes a timeout now and then, maybe; you know, just to have a little fun.

Perhaps, a synonym of “politician” is “facade.” Voting for a “good” politician who passively okays abortion by not speaking or voting against it, might be just as bad in the eyes of the Lord.

The Parable of the Sheep and the Goats finds Christians feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, etc. How would this sequence sound? We find Christians who are visiting the sick, giving drink to the thirsty, killing babies in the womb...
