End Times Ping
FReemail me if you wish to be added to or removed from The End Times Ping List.
Maranatha!
I was 40 years old before computers and other digital devices entered my life.
I cherish that time, it truly was simpler.
all by design of the communists that litter this nation in leadership roles.
Looking back at the 80’s, the most technological device folks had was either their landline or a microwave.
Now it’s all wires, computers, wireless devices that eavesdrop and other AI controlled devices that snoop on you for advertising opportunities.
Humanity always destroys itself.
Guns. He forgot guns.
Amen!
I could go on about how we were more susceptible to media bias due to the few media outlets that were available to us. But, in many ways, I certainly do miss those days...
I am in my 70s. There was a time I had more days ahead of me then behind me, but no longer. I have decided not to use my remaining days on earth worrying about the next generation.
They have willingly tossed our history, morals and culture aside.
The future they have created is theirs to live. I hope they enjoy it (I know I would not).
I’m a bit behind you on age but I have the same sentiments.
I worked at Intel BEFORE desktop computers...yes...simpler times
I am beginning to think the same...feel sorry for my son (who refuses to talk politics)...and grandkids...I have a 28 yr old grandson who probably knows the “truth”..
Post 11 was meant for you.
Ping
they also had cassettes to play music, Lp record albums as well. The Radio was popular still and getting 40 TV channels cost about 8.95 a month from what I remember paying.
Yep it was better times.
Thanks.
Kids nowadays have no idea what fun they missed doing something as sinple as going to a drive in movie.
Great memories there.
Was going through some old papers - found my parents’ home mortgage from the 1950s.
It was two double-sided pages.
Yes, so complex with weighty bureaucracy and full of holes it will collapse upon itself. Eaten away by sin.
Is it just me, or has the world become insufferably complicated? ...Just think about your own day-to-day interactions and how maddeningly complexified everything has become. -- Life in the 1950s was more complex than life in the 1850s. It was already complex in 1950 compared to 1850, leave along 850
Remember when graduating from high school was considered a success? Or when getting your Bachelor's Degree was a success? How about when a Master's degree really set you apart?
And he's talking about the 1960s and then progressing to the 1970s with bachelor's etc.
Or when doctorate degrees were reserved for actual doctors? Now, on top of your Master's degree, you need business certificates and other professional licensures to do a job that requires a fraction of it. -- you don't. You need the certifications to get a call from HR as HR is populated with folks who don't know what is really needed, so look for something simple. instead, in the AI/ML sector today most jobs are from references. As a hiring manager, I'm only going to hire people who get references from folks I know - and I don't care about their certifications or degrees
Frankly speaking though, you do practically need a finance degree these days to just do your own taxes. - that's only in the USA. In the UK and EU, these have been simplified so everyone fills up their taxes themselves - unless you own a single-person business.
Remember when cash was king? Or when checks were just as good as cash? -- Checks are incredibly difficult to process - paper has to be shuffled around, cross-checked etc. either go for cash or for direct debits
How about when credit cards made everything possible? Debit cards were just as good as cash in hand, except when PayPal'ing or Venmo'ing your favorite vendor. Nowadays, paychecks are nothing more than a few digits on your mobile banking device (Direct deposit). - and that's no more complex than getting shillings, dimes etc. in the imperial system.
Remember when you just had home, life, and car insurance, which you could often bundle together? -- you still have that - outside the USA. In the USA insurance companies rule
Remember the days when you could read and understand the fine print on the clauses and purchase agreements? Nowadays, you'd need a law degree to go through every detail and agreement to understand what it is they are actually saying. - well that depends. In general it's true, but then in other places the laws are stricter (Napoleonic code) to simplify things
That sounds like the current Roman Catholic Church, with a political pope and homosexual Vatican bureaucracy run amok. Given enough unsupervised time, leftists will infiltrate and destroy everything.
