Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Genesis 2
2 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God,
King Of The Universe,
Who Has given us this Day,
This Moment,
And Has Brought us Together for Your Purpose.
We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise
Into the House of The LORD,
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God.
If the people will not sing Your Praises,
the very rocks of the earth would break forth in song to Praise You,
Oh Father, Creator, LORD of All!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

With five children and another on the way, Dad had two jobs. His main job was as a Cable Splicer for the Phone Company, descending into manholes and climbing poles to keep our telephones working. That was a very important job, and I was in awe of him. His other job was as a Wedding Photographer, and I actually got to assist him. When Dad had a wedding, I would help him load over 200 film plates for his Speed Graphic Camera (the same camera that Clark Kent used in his job at The Daily Planet), and, after Dad "shot" the Wedding, I worked side-by-side with him in the darkroom making the prints. Then I would help Dad assemble the prints into albums, 8" x 10" for the Bride, and 5" x 7" for the Mothers of the Bride and Groom. At the age of nine, I felt very important and grown-up, working with Dad in the Darkroom. Most Weddings were on Saturday, but Jewish Weddings were on Sunday, because Saturday was their Sabbath. Sometimes Dad would work all week at the Phone Company, Saturday for a Christian Wedding, and Sunday for a Jewish Wedding. Then, on Monday, he would go back to work as a Cable Splicer again. So, although we kids had Saturday and Sunday off, Dad was always working.
Dad saved all the negatives for "His Brides", because one never knew when a copy was needed, either for a divorce settlement (the ring pictures) or other legal matter. The negatives were 4 inches square so they took up a lot of space in our home.
When I first heard that God rested on the Seventh Day, I thought that He got cheated out of a whole weekend. After all, we had TWO days off from School, and here was God, getting only one day off. That is how kids think, I guess. But the day that God rested was not because He was tired. That never entered into it. He rested as a cessation of work. The work of Creation was declared "Very Good" and "Finished". Creation was perfect...that is, until the Fall. Then the Plan of Redemption went into operation, culminating in Jesus's Death on The Cross. And, what did Jesus say on the Cross before He died? He said, "It Is Finished." The Work of Creation was Finished on the Seventh Day, and Jesus's Work of Redemption was Finished on The Cross.
