Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Revelation 20
The Judgment of the Dead
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty Father,
Hallowed Be Your Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Our Emmanuel,
God With Us!
Thank You, LORD,
For For being With us at all times.
Thank You for Loving Us
LONG before we learn to love You!
Bring to us the Light of Your Countenance,
Open Our Eyes to Your Presence
Open Our Ears to Your Word.
Engrave Your Law deeply in our Hearts
Just as You have engraved us on the Palms of Your Hands.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Psalm 70
To the leader. Of David, for the memorial offering.
1 Be pleased, O God, to deliver me.
O Lord, make haste to help me!
2 Let those be put to shame and confusion
who seek my life.
Let those be turned back and brought to dishonour
who desire to hurt me.
3 Let those who say, ‘Aha, Aha!’
turn back because of their shame.
4 Let all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you.
Let those who love your salvation
say evermore, ‘God is great!’
5 But I am poor and needy;
hasten to me, O God!
You are my help and my deliverer;
O Lord, do not delay!

This coming Sunday is the Recital. There are four children participating, and will be outside in a BBQ setting. I want it to feel like a party rather than a competition. Real competition, guilds, talent contests, etc can come later in my student's education if they wish to go that route. Back in Florida there was intense preparation for District, State, and Regional Competitions, as well as a scramble to sing at Epcot. Massachusetts doesn't seem to have that same system in place, but if it did, I would happily train kids for that kind of thing. In any case, I am more desirous of developing in the children a Love of music and performing. I don't want them traumatized by their First Recital the way I was!
One pair of siblings, though, is VERY competitive. They wanted to do the exact same program to see who does it better (No.). Then they wanted me to perform the same songs as they were doing to see who "won". (No). Then, the ten-year-old boy wanted to hang fliers around the neighborhood and have the neighbors vote on the best performer. (No.) and so on. I tried to explain to him that, of the four performers, two were learning disabled, and were doing the best they could. The purpose of this Recital was to celebrate what we have learned so far in a friendly, family setting. There will be plenty of time for competition in the years to come. As it stands, the boy will be playing THREE sets of music, on three different instruments, and knows he will "kick butt" no matter what the other kids play. Cream will rise to the top and the boy has motivation, ambition, and talent and will be a STAR someday, but just not this Sunday, OK?
Now, lest you think I have succumbed to the "Participation Trophy" mindset, please bear in mind that I am doing my best not to humiliate the two "special needs" children, and I never intended for this recital to be a competition. If it were, I would train the kids accordingly.
At the End of Days, there will be no "Participation Trophies". Nor, on the other hand, will there be "competition" before the Throne of God. Each of us will be judged individually as to whether or not our names are written in the Book of Life. We will not be able to point to others and complain that they were better or worse than we were. We will not be able to claim membership in some group that gives us a pass. We will not be able to point to our parents' religion, or our ancestors, or our nationality to gain admittance. It is not a contest, or a zero-sum game. And it will NOT be because of our own striving.
Jesus said I AM the Door." He also said, I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to The Father except through ME."
Is Your Name written in the Book of Life? If not, you know Who to talk to about it.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

I will never forget my son’s first piano recital! He had a marvelous teacher but, in another year, he chose not to continue in his musical studies. He still has a great appreciation for classical music.
Joining in prayer. God bless you and your student children on their big day!
