Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Revelation 19

The Finality of Babylon’s Doom

21 Then a mighty angel picked up a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea, and said:

“With such violence
    the great city of Babylon will be thrown down,
    never to be found again.

22  The music of harpists and musicians, pipers and trumpeters,
    will never be heard in you again.
No worker of any trade
    will ever be found in you again.
The sound of a millstone
    will never be heard in you again.

23  The light of a lamp
    will never shine in you again.
The voice of bridegroom and bride
    will never be heard in you again.
Your merchants were the world’s important people.
    By your magic spell all the nations were led astray.

24  In her was found the blood of prophets and of God’s holy people,
    of all who have been slaughtered on the earth.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty and Everlasting Father,
How Glorious and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Glorious and Transcendent,
Rock of Ages,
Ancient of Days,
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

In a nearby town, there stands an old mill. It just so happens that the mill is enroute to a cottage where my family spent a month every summer from 1961 to 1969. We would pass the mysterious old building constantly, and, although it had a sign saying it was an "Historic Mill", it was beginning to fall into ruin. No matter how many times we passed the old mill, my eyes always wandered in its direction.

In recent years, there has been much restoration work done on the old mill. With a repaired roof and a cleaned-up interior, it is now a favorite place to rent cheaply from the Town Hall. I have been to several events there, including Barn Sales, Craft Fairs, Community Yard Sales, Benefit Events and so on. It is very rustic and lends itself perfectly to these events, but you wouldn't want to have your wedding there. It's just too Spartan for that type of affair.

I recently attended a Barn Sale to raise money for the restoration of the old mill. The parking lot was a sea of mud and potholes, but I managed to maneuver the Harley and park it on a dry spot. I was glad I did! One of the Vendors was selling Harley Parts and Memorabilia! I got quite a bit of my Christmas Shopping done!

The Harley Vendor and I got into a conversation about the Restoration Process. The Mill Wheel was so totally damaged that it would have to be rebuilt from scratch, which was a huge expense. The Millstone had sunk so deeply into the mud that it was probably stuck there forever. "It's so HEAVY," he said, "I don't know if we will EVER be able to get it out." I looked down at the Millstone. From what I could see of it, it looked as if it were 10 feet in diameter and made of solid New England Granite. How did they ever get it in there in the first place? Well, anyway, I hope the sale went well for all the vendors, and I hope they made enough money to pave the parking lot!

Millstones hold a very special place in Scripture. To the Prophets, they symbolized Civilization, Abundance, and Peace. The sound of the women grinding grain for their daily bread was the sound of a healthy society. It is equated with the sounds of Music (The Arts), the Voices of the Bridegroom and Bride (Family), and the hustle and bustle of Daily Life (Provision and Prosperity). The LACK of these sounds signals a society in breakdown and the Judgement of God upon it.

In the New Testament, the Millstone takes on an additional meaning. When the Millstone becomes too big, its very weight can negate its usefulness. Jesus said that anyone who hurts a child should have a Millstone hung around their neck and then be cast into the sea. To this day, we use this metaphor to describe what we would like to see happen to very evil people who exploit and harm children.

In Today's Reading, an Angel carrying an enormous Millstone announces the Fall of Babylon.Then the Angel casts the Millstone into the Sea. Is it a coincidence that Today's reading just happened to come up on a day when America is reeling from the leak of a Draft Discussion of The United States Supreme Court about "Roe vs. Wade"? A mere coincidence? You decide.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 25

Of David.

1 To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, in you I trust;
do not let me be put to shame;
do not let my enemies exult over me.
3 Do not let those who wait for you be put to shame;
let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.

4 Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
5 Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all day long.

6 Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for your goodness’ sake, O Lord!

8 Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
9 He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,
for those who keep his covenant and his decrees.

11 For your name’s sake, O Lord,
pardon my guilt, for it is great.
12 Who are they that fear the Lord?
He will teach them the way that they should choose.

13 They will abide in prosperity,
and their children shall possess the land.
14 The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him,
and he makes his covenant known to them.
15 My eyes are ever towards the Lord,
for he will pluck my feet out of the net.

16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 Relieve the troubles of my heart,
and bring me* out of my distress.
18 Consider my affliction and my trouble,
and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider how many are my foes,
and with what violent hatred they hate me.
20 O guard my life, and deliver me;
do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
for I wait for you.

22 Redeem Israel, O God,
out of all its troubles.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR
THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM!
And for the Preservation of the Valiant
Israeli Nation!

_ND a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

And Millstone is a brand of coffee! We all need a Great Awakening!

I agree about that leak. So strategic. May the Good Lord turn what was met for evil to good.
