Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Revelation 12
The Woman and the Dragon
12 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.”[a] And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
7 Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
“Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
11 They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens
and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.”
13 When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach. 15 Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. 16 But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.

Hallowed Be Your Name!
For You Alone are Worthy of Praise and Worship,
For You Alone are Holy, Righteous and Just,
And Glorious in Majesty!
You Alone Are The One True God.
Perfect in All Your Ways
And yet, You give us permission
To call You "Abba Father"!
How Wonderful You Are!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

The stunning Vision in Revelation 12 has been interpreted in a number of ways. Catholic Scholars see the Woman as the Virgin Mary, and the iconograpy reflects this, showing the crescent moon beneath her feet and the crown with Twelve Stars. Some pictures also show her treading upon a snake, but in the Vision, the serpent is chasing after her, not the other way around. because of the Crown of Twelve Stars, Protestant Scholars say that she represents Zion, and the Stars are the Twelve Tribes of Israel. The Male Child is, of course, Jesus the Messiah, and fits both interpretations. The part about the Woman and her children being persecuted and chased into the wilderness by satan also fits both.
On September 23rd, 2017, this Vision was literally fulfilled in the night sky, as the Planet Jupiter (symbolizing a king) emerged from the Constellation Virgo. The Constellation Draco, which is a The Dragon, was also involved in the display, and the Crescent Moon was just rising under the feet of the Virgin. Supposedly, this conjuction only happens every 7000 years, and so, without straying into Astrology, one could say it was a very interesting celestial phenomenon. Since there were no earth-shattering global events on that day, those who had gotten all excited about were mercilessly mocked online. The heavens are so vast and our limted vantage point so small that nobody can predict wat the sky will look like 2000 years from now.
Except, that John of Patmos DID.
Whether September 23, 2017 was just a natural coincidence or a sign from God, it behaved exactly the way John said it would.
I find that pretty amazing, and all the more reason to PRAISE GOD.
Oh...and one more thing. When John had his Vision, the Crescent Moon was just a crescent moon. From the Eighth Century to the Present, however, the Crescent Moon has taken on a new symbolism, and represents an entity that is the biggest threat to Israel, Jews, and Christians. I'm glad that the Vision shows the Crescent Moon UNDER the Feet of the Woman!

You enhance you wonderful visual threads substantially, Mary-Lou, by your wide scriptural and theological knowledge, coupled with your strict orthodoxy. Merge that with your incredible perseverance, and I am in awe of your ministry and deeply in your debt.
Many, many thanks--and an exuberant AMEN!

Psalm 14
To the leader. Of David.
1 Fools say in their hearts, ‘There is no God.’
They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds;
there is no one who does good.
2 The Lord looks down from heaven on humankind
to see if there are any who are wise,
who seek after God.
3 They have all gone astray, they are all alike perverse;
there is no one who does good,
no, not one.
4 Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers
who eat up my people as they eat bread,
and do not call upon the Lord?
5 There they shall be in great terror,
for God is with the company of the righteous.
6 You would confound the plans of the poor,
but the Lord is their refuge.
7 O that deliverance for Israel would come from Zion!
When the Lord restores the fortunes of his people,
Jacob will rejoice; Israel will be glad.
