Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

1 Peter 4
7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. 8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD,
Our One and Only God,
How Excellent is Your Name Over All The Earth!
How Magnificent Is Your Glory,
And How Righteous Are Your Precepts,
How True and Perfect Your Judgments!
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are Lord,
You Alone Are The One True God.
What can we do except gasp in Wonder at Your Holy Word,
As You Open Up Your Eternal and Wonderful Redemptive Love To Us?
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

After five years of teaching in Massachusetts, I will be finally having a recital for my students. Those of you who have been with me from the beginning of this Thread know how difficult finding a venue can be. However, one of my students has an awesome back yard with a gazebo and huge deck, and the parents have volunteered to have the recital disguised as a family cookout. There will be four students involved, playing piano, guitar, and viola. The programs are so different that it promises to be a fun, stress-free time for the kids.
My students are insisting that I do a set as well. While I could struggle through "Moonlight Sonata" and do a fair version of it (If All I do for the next month is practice "Moonlight Sonata" 24 hours a day!), I would much rather do what I do best, which is Classic Rock. I finally settled on the idea that my half-hour set will include some Beethoven, Mozart, and Bergemueller, but also some Rolling Stones, Doors, Eagles, Springsteen, and Beatles. The trick is to merge all these melodies into one seamless rhapsody, merging and weaving them together. I'm having fun with this!
Two of my students are doing something similar with their sets. One little girl is merging three Mozart tunes into a Medley and her brother is doing the same thing with "Star Wars". Although we all must learn the Basics, such as Theory and Technique, I want my students to be able to create music on the spot. Although they all have to practice Hanon and Scales, there will be NO Hanon or Scales in the recital.
Just like the Apostle Paul, Peter bursts into prayer right in the middle of his letters. Even here, where Peter advises people to use the gifts that God gave them, he weaves in a Doxology praising God. To be able to jump so effortlessly from advice to prayer, to praise, to intercession indicates hours of practice. Like "Hanon and Scales" this kind of prayer is done in private, between you and God, and would be "boring" to others, However, it prepares you for when you are in public, your speech will be seasoned with salt, seamlessly weaving between subjects, and always giving Glory to God. Prayer is the natural way of expressing yourself, when you do it all the time..
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 65
To the leader. A Psalm of David. A Song.
1 Praise is due to you,
O God, in Zion;
and to you shall vows be performed,
2 O you who answer prayer!
To you all flesh shall come.
3 When deeds of iniquity overwhelm us,
you forgive our transgressions.
4 Happy are those whom you choose and bring near
to live in your courts.
We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house,
your holy temple.
5 By awesome deeds you answer us with deliverance,
O God of our salvation;
you are the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas.
6 By your* strength you established the mountains;
you are girded with might.
7 You silence the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of their waves,
the tumult of the peoples.
8 Those who live at earth’s farthest bounds are awed by your signs;
you make the gateways of the morning and the evening shout for joy.
9 You visit the earth and water it,
you greatly enrich it;
the river of God is full of water;
you provide the people with grain,
for so you have prepared it.
10 You water its furrows abundantly,
settling its ridges,
softening it with showers,
and blessing its growth.
11 You crown the year with your bounty;
your wagon tracks overflow with richness.
12 The pastures of the wilderness overflow,
the hills gird themselves with joy,
13 the meadows clothe themselves with flocks,
the valleys deck themselves with grain,
they shout and sing together for joy.
