Ask a Jew, Ask a Gentile with Dennis Prager and Jack Hibbs
YouTube ^ | March 18, 2022 | Dennis Prager and Jack Hibbs

Posted on 03/19/2022 8:52:20 AM PDT by P-Marlowe

Here is a very revealing discussion of the beliefs of Dennis Prager representing the Orthodox Jewish tradition and Jack Hibbs presenting his understanding of the Christian faith.

Dennis is one of the most prominent defenders of the Jewish Tradition in the world today and Jack Hibbs is one of the most visible conservative Christian pastors and Bible teachers in America.

They discuss the differences in their faiths. They are both very close friends and their love for each other is obvious and this is a wonderful example of how two people with very different views on religion can discuss their differences in love.

I was riveted for the whole hour and a half.

Did they talk about Dennis congratulating Dave Rubin and his ‘husband’ on having a baby?

Orthodox Jew my butt! Dennis thinks he can override the word of God.

Dennis is not orthodox. He is close friends with Dave Rubin. He doesn’t support same sex marriage. You have not listened to him. Few men are wiser than Dennis Prager.

Dennis is not “orthodox”. He admits that during the discussion. He was raised Orthodox but now calls himself “Observant”. He is a Jewish apologist and Jack is a Christian apologist. We can all learn a lot about how to discuss religious differences without getting personal by watching this video.

You will leann a lot about Prager’s religious views in this video.

This is not a “debate”. It’s just two friends discussing what they believe and why they believe it.

Few men are wiser than Dennis Prager.

Not wise by Biblical standards, because Prager misreads the Bible. The Old Testament is full of references pointing to Jesus. Yet while Prager has studied the OT in depth, he did not find Jesus in them.

For that reason, Christians should beware of Prager's take on the OT. I haven't read his "rational Bible," but if he doesn't find Jesus in the OT, then Prager fundamentally doesn't understand the OT.

You are misguided. I disagree emphatically with all you said. Leave it at that.

I came toJudaism through Dennis Prager in 1990. I know of him well and have followed him all these years very diligently. I have spoken to him by phone when he called me after I letter I wrote to him. He referenced me in his Ultimate Issues journal and then again in one of his books. I love him. I listen to him daily. He’s an incredible man and religious scholar.

Watch the video and watch Prager’s body language when Jack points out all the scriptures in the Old Testament that show that Jesus is both the promised Messiah and God incarnate. Prager really had no answer. It was fascinating.

At the end it was clear exactly what Jack Hibbs believes. At the end I really had no idea what Dennis Prager believes. I’m not sure he knows either.

Well, there's one thing I know that he's very, very foolish about. That old "partial blindness" thing that the apostle Paul talked about. Man's wisdom is of no value whatsoever.

Prager has a high IQ. He's charming and can be convincing. But he's also often astonishingly foolish and naive.

About 20 years ago (Prager must have been around 50), he read a news story about a hit-and-run driver. He was astonished that anyone would hit someone with a car, and then drive off. He didn't understand why someone would behave so immorally.

I was mentally screaming at him, "Because they don't want to get in trouble! They don't want to be sued!"

A listener called up and explained it to Prager.

Prager was amazed, saying, "Oh! That never occurred to me! This is why I love this show. I learn from my listeners."

I never forgot that call. How naive must you be to not know that even ordinary people will run because they don't want to get in trouble?

================

He's said a lot of foolish things over the years. When a Pasadena synagogue hired a tranny rabbi, Prager said he wasn't opposed to a transwoman rabbi, but he was upset that the biologically male rabbi chose to keep his male name, rather than assuming a female name.

Prager said it was "very important" that biologically male "women" present themselves as women, to maintain the gender distinction, because ... the Bible.

Prager has compromised so much, he now accepts trannies, so long as they "present themselves" as their chosen gender. That's what's "very important."

=================

Prager said that we should use people's preferred pronouns because its "a courtesy." And for that biologically male "women" should not compete in women's sports, "as a courtesy" to biologically female women.

Prager is astonishingly foolish and naive. Like many "tough talking" cuckservatives, he's compromised with the Left his entire life. He keeps drawing new lines in the sand, boldly asserting that this one the Left shall not cross, this one he shall not compromise on.

The problem with this discussion is that everyone is commenting on what Dennis has said previously. So it’s devolved into a personal attack on his character rather than a discussion of his actual religious beliefs as an “Observant Jew.”

In other words we are now at post 14 and there are a lot of attacks on Prager’s politics but not much on the issues of the video. The video was to let a Jew and a Gentile tell the world what they believe and why.

I think when you listen to what Dennis says about his religious views, it might explain some of his rather inconsistent political views. It was enlightening to me.

Also catch his reactions when Jack Hibbs uses the Old Testsment to show exactly what Jack Hibbs believes and why. Watch the video and then let us know your reaction.

I’d like to get comments on the video and not what either of these guys have said or done in the past.

Thanks.

I’ve listened to Hibbs half a dozen times and consider him an excellent teacher. He, MacArthur, and Heitzig are my favorites. They have different communication strengths, but all have a broad knowledgeof the bible. MacArthur is fearless. Heitzig is amiable and traveled. Hibbs, after my brief time listening, is discerning.

Prager, and I get his feed online, is insightful and moral. I responded on one of his videos a week ago on the subject of passover. He considered passover unique to religions. I pointed out that Good Friday IS Passover and got hammered by his viewers. Lol.

3 pm Passover the sacrifice of the Lamb of God!

He considered passover unique to religions.

Prager has a very Judeo-centric view of both history and religion, which can be a blind spot for him.

For instance, he has said that "Jews are not the only victims of revolutions, but they are always the first victims." The "Jews as canary in the coalmine" theory.

Well, no. I emailed him, saying that in the French Revolution, only Catholic clergy were persecuted. Jews were emancipated. And in the Russian Revolution, the Bolsheviks first targeted Christian Orthodox clergy, nuns, and believers. Only later did they turn on other religions.

I'll look at the video later, and let you know what I think.

I'm not familiar with Hibbs. I began listening to Prager in the 1990s when he had "Religion on the Line." But I've not listened to him much these past 20 years; only sporadically.

Nope!   I tried to watch it but hearing both of these leaders drinking the Joe Biden/George Soros/Klaus Schwab Kool-Aid is sickening.

Hibbs had an hour and a half discussion a week and a half ago at his church with Charlie Kirk talking about Charles Schwab and the Great Reset.

If you want to know what Hibbs thinks about Soros and Schwab and everything else, maybe you could do some research. All his messages are online.
