2 Thessalonians 3

Request for Prayer

3 As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. 2 And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 4 We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. 5 May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.

This Forum is a unique place. Unlike strictly political or news outlets, we have several "Social" Threads and an entire forum for Religious Threads. Unlike Social Media, we have no advertising, and so it is entirely user-supported. Even though we use screen-names, we pray for one another constantly. Through illness and mourning, financial and personal stress, we lift each other up in prayer, either privately through FReepmail, or publicly on an open thread. There is a Daily Thread that prays for our Nation. There are other daily threads that are Bible Readings, Daily Liturgies, and Devotionals. And then, of course, there are threads that are full of complaints. Since this entire Forum is dedicated to our First Amendment Rights, you can bet we get plenty of complainers!

The beauty of it is that these daily threads and prayer requests remind us that Prayer is not just something you DO a set time every day. It is a WALK, a state of mind, and a constant inner activity. That's what Paul meant when he said in Philippians, "Pray Without Ceasing".

Not only does Paul pray for the believers in the churches he has planted, but he also asks them to pray for him. He is very personal in his letters, sending greetings from and to individual people, whose names live forever because of Paul's Letters. These are not the esoteric musings of a hermit seeking spiritual enlightenment for himself. Paul, even incarcerated, reaches out to individuals by name and prays for them.

And so, as we enter the 12th year of this Thread, I humbly ask that you will pray for me too. I sure do appreciate it!
