In accordance with the policy of His Eminence Cardinal Blase Cupich and the implementation of the motu proprio of His Holiness Pope Francis Traditionis Custodes within the Archdiocese of Chicago, there will be changes to the schedule of Masses at St John Cantius Church.
Beginning on January 25, 2022, on the first Sunday of each month, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be celebrated in the Ordinary Form of the Roman Missal, both in Latin and English.
The Archdiocese also prescribes for us liturgical unity of prayer for Holy Mother Church’s major feasts of Christmas, Pentecost and Easter, including the Triduum.
The Canons Regular of St John Cantius are committed to serving the faithful within the Archdiocese of Chicago. We Canons will live more fully our charism, “the core of our apostolate”—our very purpose— to restore the sacred.

So, they caved to Soupy. Truly a damned if they do, damned if they don’t situation for the faithful. If they don’t show up for the Novus Ordo, Soupy says they’re schismatics who reject Vatican 2 and cancels the TLMS for the other 3 weeks. If they do show up for the Novus Ordo, Soupy says that they’re transitioning well to the Novus Ordo just as he and the Holy Father intended, so there’s no longer a need for the TLM.
Geographically, the Archdiocese of Chicago is pretty small. Faithful Catholics who attended the TLM there would do well to travel outside Chicago to attend Mass.
Agreed. But it’ll be sad to see Soupy succeed in driving the TLM out of Chicago proper.
They need to resist abUse of authority. But we Catholics have been trained in obedience. Except for the liberal Catholics, who have no problem with Christological heresies, abortion, homosexuality and contraception. And now they have an ally on the Chair of Peter.

They were already biritual, so they didn’t have a prayer. I want to see what happens with the Institute of Christ the King, whose US headquarters is in Chicago.
