Nottingham, England, Jan 6, 2022 / 05:00 am (CNA).
A parish in England has asked Catholics not to attend Mass if they are “not vaccinated and/or won’t wear a mask.”
The Parish of the Holy Family, East Nottingham, in central England, issued the request most recently in a newsletter dated Dec. 26.
Under the heading “Keeping safe,” the parish asked Massgoers to use hand sanitizer and wear a face covering when attending the parish’s three churches.
“If you are not vaccinated and/or won’t wear a mask, please do not come to Mass,” it said.
The parish made the same request in its newsletters on Dec. 19 and Christmas Day, but not in its latest bulletin on Jan. 2.
The policy was criticized on social media, with one Catholic priest describing it as “scandalous, sinister, and unchristian.”
Asked if local Bishop Patrick McKinney supported the parish’s stance, a spokesperson for the Diocese of Nottingham said that vaccination status should not be a “barrier” to Catholics attending Mass.

Keep sending donations though
Lots of standing legal bills to pay for from our musical chairs policies for pedo priests.
They ask that they wear a mask so its not like they are banning them. That being said “not attending mass” is a sin and thus telling others to NOT go to mass is leading them into sin and is itself evil.
The church is not a necessity. You can live a holy live and have a relationship with God without them.
Christ welcomed the deaf, the mute, the crippled, the bleeding, the paralyzed, the lepers and the sinners.
These people are wrong to exclude people from church. They will have to answer for their lack of love at the moment they die.
I read it as “wear a mask” if you’ve received the hot shots; don’t come at all if you hadn’t received them.
They said “If you are not vaccinated and/or won’t wear a mask, please do not come to Mass,”. That means if you are not vaccinated or if you won’t wear a mask you are excluded.
“If you are not vaccinated and/or won’t wear a mask, please do not come to Mass…”
OK. 🤷🏻♀️
Here in NJ they realize many people aren’t coming back - ever. I’m not aware of any more restrictions at church, and was aware that when they re-opened at reduced capacity most parishes probably could fit everyone that even bothered attending anymore within those guidelines (in other words, 50% attendance restriction looked just like 100% attendance).
I expect them to allow COVID-positive people to share the chalice now...but it won’t change anything. It will provide cover for closing/selling more churches and schools...
Most churches wouldn’t let Jesus attend their services. His blood might stain the carpet
Well this is great the vaccinated can spread the virus to each other AND the unvaccinated will be protected!!
Depends on one’s religion
Its a perfect cover
Wait until the government and financial companies start blaming all their decades of mismanagement on covid
The coming multiple bubble collapses, all on covid
I’ve posted on other threads that I’m concerned the remote work will hasten the outsourcing of jobs as well.
While some news outlets claim there is record tax revenue, I can’t believe a lot hasn’t been lost/failed to materialize.
Many places that have been burned by outsourcing recognize the value of American workers.
In many places their american workers had to spend so much time reworking the problems from India they wound up spending more money and time, so they dropped the outsorcing, because it cost them more. The smart ones realized this and said no more.
I’ve heard that, but I’ve never met an American who had his/her job move to India that got it back.
Since you get many Indians for the price of one American, some companies figure they can replace five Americans with one American and ten Indians and still come out ahead. As far as the customer experience, it seems clear they don’t care; they see more profit selling to the growing middles class in Asia (billions) rather than the less than 400 million in the US.
Unvaccinated Catholics told they are forbidden to enter heaven 🤪
i didnt say that
some companies made the mistakes and learned from them
i didn’t say the people they fired initially, when they made their mistakes, came back
yeah it hasnt worked out that way very well
there is often a comprehension barrier where the indians just do not understand what they are being asked to do
so you get stuff back not doing what you need
time is wasted
and more time reengineering fixes to stuff that was sent to you that didnt do what you asked
eventually some smarter companies realized they come out ahead in time and money doing it here with American employees
I could certainly see why they wouldn’t return - though to fight unemployment the companies could alert the state that they refused jobs.
