Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

John 13
Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet
13 It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
2 The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. 3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”
7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.” 11 For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.
12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Abba Father,
How Awesome You Are!
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most High!
You Alone Are The One True God Of Abraham,
You Are The King of Kings,
LORD of Lords,
and Rock of All Ages,
Our Creator,
You Are Before All Things,
And In You All Things Hold Together.
Your Loving Kindness Is from Everlasting To Everlasting.
Even When We Are Unfaithful,
You Are Always Faithful.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
Let all that has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.
God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Peter and the other Disciples are naturally shocked by this action of Jesus. Why on earth would He stoop to performing the humblest of tasks, that of washing His Disciples' feet? Jesus explains that He is an example for them to follow, and that they should not be ashamed to serve one another as well.
Peter's initial reaction is also instructive. He is appalled that Jesus should serve him in this manner. At first, he refuses to receive this Amazing Grace being offered. Jesus uses this moment to instruct Peter, that unless Peter allows Jesus to wash him, he will have no part of Him.
The inability to accect God's Amazing Grace is crippling. The idea that one has to earn God's Grace, or that one can't accept an undeserved gift, will keep a person from receiving the Greatest Gift of all. It takes humility to "Receive". In fact, it tsometimes takes more grace to receive than to give.
May your New Year be filled with Grace!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Psalm 67
To the leader: with stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song.
1 May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face to shine upon us,
Selah
2 that your way may be known upon earth,
your saving power among all nations.
3 Let the peoples praise you, O God;
let all the peoples praise you.
4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for you judge the peoples with equity
and guide the nations upon earth.
Selah
5 Let the peoples praise you, O God;
let all the peoples praise you.
6 The earth has yielded its increase;
God, our God, has blessed us.
7 May God continue to bless us;
let all the ends of the earth revere him.
