Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent Is Your Name Over All The Earth!
We Praise and Worship You;
For You Alone Are Worthy;
You Alone Are LORD;
You Alone Are The One True God!
Blessed Are You Oh LORD, Our God,
King of the Universe,
Ancient of Days,
LORD of Hosts,
Rock of All Ages!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

Let all that has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Today's Bible Verse sounds so "New Testament" that it is often included on Easter Cards and Sermons. And yet, it's from the Book of Job, which many Bible Scholars believe is the oldest Book in the Bible. While Job's original injuries were the direct result of Satan having his way with him, the subsequent miseries that were foisted upon him were from his alleged "Friends". As I mentioned earlier, these guys weren't saying anything particularly false. In fact, a lot of their discourse sounds extremely pious and holy. Sin does bring misery, You can't lie to God, We DO sow what we reap, and so forth. And yet, those were NOT the right thing to say to Job and only made him more resolute in his protestations of innocence.

A new word has been added to the Lexicon of Psychology. That term is "gaslighting". It is considered a form of Abuse. The term comes from a movie called "Gaslight", in which a husband tries to convince his wife that she is losing her mind. Simply put, the behavior of gaslighting is a way of deflecting criticism by telling the victim that "it's all in her head". Soon the victim begins to doubt her own sanity...did she rally hear or witness what she did, or is she really crazy? Now that the establishment has a name for this behavior, we become very good at detecting it. The perpetrators can be The Medical Establishment, Government, Media ("Let's Go Brandon!" is a perfect example of gaslighting by the media), Academia (Critical Race Theory, Marxism, Gender theory, Etc), Clergy, Social Situations, and, of course, Marriages. Reading Job for the umpteenth time in my Christian Walk has alerted me to the Incredibly skilled Gaslighting Techniques of Job's alleged "Friends". (There's that word "alleged" again!).

Verse after Verse, Chapter after Chapter, Job's alleged friends line up and lecture him, telling him in flowery phisophical terms that Job's suffering is his own fault. One might think Job would cave under this "Third Degree".

But Job maintains his integrity. He KNOWS he has an Advocate with the Father. He KNOWS that he is right with God. He KNOWS that there is a greater purpose in his suffering. And, out of the darkness and pain, out of the bottomless pit of sffering, his answer rings out through the Millennia, causing the Gaslighters to scurry back under their rocks..

"I KNOW that my redeemer lives,

 and that in the end he will stand on the earth."

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 64

To the leader. A Psalm of David.

1 Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint;
preserve my life from the dread enemy.
2 Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked,
from the scheming of evildoers,
3 who whet their tongues like swords,
who aim bitter words like arrows,
4 shooting from ambush at the blameless;
they shoot suddenly and without fear.
5 They hold fast to their evil purpose;
they talk of laying snares secretly,
thinking, ‘Who can see us?*
6 Who can search out our crimes?*
We have thought out a cunningly conceived plot.’
For the human heart and mind are deep.

7 But God will shoot his arrow at them;
they will be wounded suddenly.
8 Because of their tongue he will bring them to ruin;*
all who see them will shake with horror.
9 Then everyone will fear;
they will tell what God has brought about,
and ponder what he has done.

10 Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord
and take refuge in him.
Let all the upright in heart glory.

Good essay on gaslighting in Job. Brings the present age more into focus.

I guess in Job’s Day it would have been called “Oil-Lamping”, since Gaslight would be thousands of years in the future. :-)

But The Tactic of Abuse existed, no matter what it was called.
